Anyone in Curtin university here. Please how is the place and how are you guys coping. Are there also jobs in Perth for students.
Thanks so much

Curtin University is a good school. We have a couple of Nigerians here too. There are casual jobs in Perth but the limit of 20 hours per week could be a challenge.

However, to make life easy for you, come prepared to do a short course/training in aged care, disability, traffic control or security/crowd control. Any of these certificates would make it easier for you to get jobs. But it means you have to come with enough money and come a bit earlier because some of the courses take between 3 ~ 6 weeks full time.

There are also jobs working as kitchen hands, working in retail, construction etc but they are harder to get.

I have been in nairaland for more than 6 years and I must confess that this is one of the most useless fraud attempt analysis I have ever come across. Smh

I'm not the guy that says he can go to Aussie with 573 work visa.
But becox I don't just read and bypass stuffs.
So...I tried to make sense by questioning the STATUS QUO .
Everything is impossible until someone makes it possible.

@ideamaster thanks. Please house I just got an offer from a school in Canada as well as that which I have from Curtin university. Am a bit confused on which I should proceed with. Am looking at one that would help in respect to job opportunities and cost of living and also available positive chances of migration afterwards.

Thank you ma!
Can one work as an MLT while prolly doing an abridge course for 3months or thereabout, to sit for the assessment/qualifying exam over there in Oz to be converted/regularized as a MLS?

What about the labour market as proportionate to the MLS profession?

I went through your previous posts, and discovered some useful info. Where is the assessment written? What is the pass rate like? I discovered from your post that the exams are written March/September...

What of the application fee and materials/text recommended for reading and onward good performance?

I so wish you luck and God's speed in the exam. I will remember you in my personal prayers.

Pls wetin be one of your kids names, so I will address you as mummy bla bla bla cheesy

My dear, visit the site and know the requirements for the assessment. Once you are through with it, you may be found eligible for the examination which is held in different countries.
Note that there is no bridging course.

I will advise that you go ahead and use a trusted agent, if u r keen on UWS, it improves your chances at getting a visa grant as you will be guided appropriately.

if the school says you must use an agent, then u must. Am sure they would refer you to their agents in Nigeria.
if its someone else that told you, u can confirm from the school by contacting them through mail or call...their contacts are on their site..

I will advice you to proceed with the offer from Curtin Uni.The rate of visa denial by CIC is just quite high now.there less attention on Australia than Canada. If you see the pile of applicants seeking Canadian school admission all around the world you go fear.perhaps, that could be reason for the high rate of visa denial.Just my own opinion ooo!!

Whether you are onshore or offshore, if you are applying for PR you must use your B.Sc which is 15points, Oz two years post graduate study is just 5points & if you are lucky to study in regional area additional 5points.
Visit www.border.gov.au and check visa subclass 485 which is post graduate working visa & see the criteria for eligibility.

permanent resisdency route. .
u need like 3years work experience in ur field to ganner points with many other conditions to get ur PR.
ur qualification or skill also av to be nominated either SOL or CSOL..
there is no working visa on its own for australia, as a nigerian wanting to work u either go the student route (very expensive with ease and short time processing and package PR after ur studies) or the direct P.R route ( cheap, kindda rigorous and long time processsing)..the later is far better if u can meet up all requirements including 3yrs work experience..
bearing in mind that the skills occupation list is subject to change at their govt. discretion.....u might wanna add more work experience and in 2 yrs time, ur occupation might still be or be removed from the list..
Do more research on ur own, all the best..

I think certain jobs require that you have a license and can drive, esp those aged care and disability jobs....so I learnt from a Nigerian upon arrival in Brisbane
