Please people, this is not to take sides. None of us outside the dispute knows the politics of the situation but deaths on such scale and regularity is something all persons of goodwill can relate to in terms of right and wrong. Those that have the ability to represent the victims or take their story to the wider community should do so. Nothing is too small. We should do something if in some tiny, tiny way it assists in shaming the combatants to the settlement table.

Agatu and the middle beltans should come together and form a militia group and arm these group so as to curb the excesses of these fulani herdsmen. i have fight in my guts as much as the next man but peaceful people are peaceful people. Sometimes such peoples just don't have it in them to fight and need the state to protect them. Part of the duty of the state, in fact liberal democracy is to protect the vulnerable. And actually, Nigeria needs peaceful people right now. We don't need communities everywhere taking the law into their own hands , picking up arms trying to settle scores, going to war with other communities etc. This would lead to insurmountable problems for central government.

I spend half the time defending Nigeria no matter what government but this thing has gone on too long and now Nigeria government needs shaming if it cannot solve this Fulani v settler thing.

Unfortunately, if Nigeria does not somehow gain more control of the borders, security in Nigeria will always be precarious and determined by the condition of poverty in the rest of Africa.
