i knew the dark cloud cover is not over, what accounted for the appreciation is the drop in demand when it got to 400+, as the dollar tumbled down to Naira, demand surged upwards just again, and inevitably, it will go up again.

Forex is hardly ever steady! Even the dollar and the pound, this is a known fact.

However, the instability of the naira is unprecedented, over the past three decades Naira has maintained a steady downward trend at an average 12% per annum.

Given this reality, I believe it is time for us to swallow pill of not just devaluing the Naira but allowing market forces to determine it's price. This will eliminate the parallel market, currency speculation and rent seeking.

Lastly, I want to stress that anyone blaming PMB alone for the fate of the naira is being unfair. PMB is not the sharpest tool in the toolbox but the blame should be equally distributed to all past Nigerian leaders!

They are all dumb,clueless and irresponsible. All of them!

reason for the drop of the dollar is because most niger,benin republic and cameroun bdc trader are sneeking into our boarder and selling the dollars,so there is now an increase in the supply in the dollar.the sad news is the the gain they made wont be spent here in nigeria.

This is the opportunity to sell the last dollars in anyone's possession. I said on Monday that dollar will probably head back up towards N400/$ to suck in the last speculators before falling to N200/$ eventually. It is going to be brutal.
