Here are the major highlight of the bill passed through Kaduna state assembly after the second reading. Before passed into law, there will be a public hearing though
1. License of Pastors/Imam
2. Payment of taxes by churches and mosque
3. Pastor/Imam are limited to number of sermons preach
4. A Pastor/Imam cannot invite a preacher outside Kaduna state without the state License, offender will be fine.
5. You don't talk about the state government during sermon. Offenders will face 2years imprisonment or pay a fine of #200,000. Below is the document passed

I have always wanted to prescribe this to Nigeria following the delicate nature of (Nigerian) religion and how it portends good or evil.

They should censor religious sermons like how they did to firearms...maybe based on age, mental condition, etc. Enough of sensational preaching for fame.

It's high time we understand to ADAPT everything else we wish to copy or use to the Nigeria predicament especially when it is clearly defeating it's purpose....or something of that nature. If we must copy anything, a committee for 'adaptation' of whatever principle to the Nigeria condition will be a sensible gesture!

you can't decide to people how to run their religion or serve their God... I like El Rufai but he has gone too far this time

Just like censoring movies for different category of viewers is not necessarily "deciding" what the MUST watch.

I said this cos if you have ever heard some of the preaching they air on the media, you will not be surprised when someone kills another in the name of God.

The State can register every business in its domain including religious organizations. The State can give rules regarding noise polution, discriminations, slanders and libels and other areas that can cause societal disharmony. License of Pastors/Imam, No. They get License and Certificate either by Inspiration from God/Allah or their Professional Bodies.
Payment of taxes and levies by churches and mosque is in order once you have successfully registered them. They may also pay rents and rates for their premises and rights to use public address system. Expansion is a necessary part of all business ventures. You cannot limit their rights to expand their various capacities to improve and enlarge.
