HI, i was wondering if anyone in nigeria can assist me with few quetions on tippers, prefferably ppl with experience in construction. 1. are 10 ton tippers used in nigeria for lifting sand/granite ...... 2. if so what is the daily pay one would expect or on a monthly basis. 3. would it be better to lease tippers to construction companies or to find a driver+bus boy personally ? 4. also what can one expect monthly from 15 ton , 25 ton , 30 ton tippers ? any help atall will be highly appreiciated... |

I sure dont have all the answers to all your questions. Various tonnage of tippers are used for various projects. Most residential houses usually get 10ton or 15 tons of material so as most block industries. I will hate to break it to you, you cannot sit overseas expecting to count your daily returns. Nigerian factor will set in. Even when you are on ground, they tend to cheat you talkless of when you are not. They will tell you anything now until you get the truck and the story begins I hate to be the bearer of bad news Regards |

USAutoBuy , thanx for replying me. honestly as you can see its about a year now i started this post and just decided to bump it yesterday to see who would reply so thank you. Unfortubately i aquired a 15 ton MACK truck that cost me N3million = £9000 to be exact. Can you belive that since december 2014 i have not made KOBO ? instead i heard story from day one for complete 5months until i decided to park it up infact the truck has been sitting the ever since. Whoever wants to deal in any form of construction business must be solid on 9ja soil. I was buying new tyres every week until my cousin told me there is something fishy going on. the driver would go out nobody would hear from him for 4 days then all of a sudden he would call or he would pick his call claiming 2 tyres have bost. i send money for new tyres he buy 2md-3rd hand tyre. it got to the state that his wife visited my father crying that she does not know the where abouts of her husband, not knowing this idiot hand married 2nd wife an was chilling with her. eventually he was found an i got my cousin to take the keys and park it up. anyway i have no to blaim but myself i cannot say i wasnt warned hopefully ill be home soon an ill take full control . |

I did not even notice the original posting. I have to tell you that this is very common. Even if you are on ground u will still have to monitor them. You can possibly consider selling it and invest your money elsewhere. Those guys are animals |

crro:Nothing seems to work in Nigeria. Even if you are on ground, they would still cheat you... I can never advise my enemy to invest in trucking, not just a good business for d educated... I'm a living witness though I manage it myself but I regret everyday for investing in it. Illiterates are very very very difficult to handle but if you are able to handle both your driver and the mechanical technician properly which I doubt then you are good to go in that business. When you come around, don't even think to revive that truck and put it back on the road, just sell it off and see it as a bad debt, move on. Don't fall for their big, fallacious and impossible return on investment they quote you before acquiring it. And also, if you wish to live longer on earth do not put your money on trucking. You just get free hypertension. |

smiley001:Well said. Main problem with transportation business is that its HEAVILY dominated by half/barely educated people. And REGARDLESS of what you do or did not do, both school of thought WILL ALWAYS COLLIDE. Its easy to deal with illiterates every now and then but dealing with them EVERYDAY is another matter entirely. You just just help fastrack your own demise. God forbid. In transportation business, this is my simple rule: IF YOU ARE NOT EITHER THE DRIVER, MECHANIC OR MANAGER, DON'T GO NEAR IT!!! Most of those people involved are worse than animals. |
