The rivalry among commercial motorcycle operators in Ibadan, Oyo State, over membership of different unions in charge of Okada riders, resulted in tragedy on Tuesday, as a deadly punch was allegedly thrown at a ticketing official of the motorcycle arm of the National Union of Road Transport Union (NURTW), Sodiq (surname unknown), by an Okada rider, at NNPC area of Ibadan.

The funny but not so funny thing about this case is that it may not be the punch that killed that man but he must have been sick or something , an autopsy should be conducted to determine the real cause of his death before punishing the okada rider.

If we go by any of the versions, the okada man will walk free in most cases. If he didn't fight back, and the aggressor simply slumped while hitting him, he's a free man. Assuming he fought back, that's also self defence. He's allowed by law to defend himself with reasonable force, at least. So he might get off easily with light penalty. Anyway you look am, na the dead man lose.

Please stop making baseless generalisation;it does not make any sense and I truly careless if you're yoruba or not. I have seen more than enough street fights between yoruba guys and some of these people that you fear so much to conclude that you're wrong. It happens regularly on the streets of Lagos.

My point is: Hausa guy can beat Yoruba guy,Yoruba guy can beat Igbo guy and Igbo guy can beat Hausa guy. It is an individual thing.

So if you're one of those people without any 'iron' in your system,do not link your deficiency to yoruba or whatever tribe. It has to do with you as an individual.

Abi o, but my concern still is the poor okada rider.

That's what you get when you fight a boxer, but let think of it; some of these touts ( drivers, okada riders, tricycle riders & NURTW) are fetish.
