I'm told by Christians they do not follow Old Testament. I'm curious about tithe & New Testament. I admit being somewhat ignorant on this subject, All I could find was Matthew 23:23: "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. My take on this. I admit some ignorance here but here it is: I Noticed Jesus peace be upon him said, "You should have practiced the latter (justice, mercy and faithfulness), without neglecting the former (tithing)." The fathers argued, that Jesus peace be upon him, word ends the discussion? Since Jesus peace be upon him said not to neglect the former—being tithing Are Jesus peace be upon him words not applicable to Christians today, because Jesus peace be upon him was under the Law and spoke to those under the Law? Is Jesus peace be upon him giving an instruction to the Jews so His words are not binding to Christians today? Please correct me if I missed something or interpreted incorrectly. |

From Matthew 5:17, Jesus declared clearly that he is the unification of the Old and New Testaments...He came as God in Human Flesh, as prophesied (Isaiah 9:6), to fulfil the Law and the Prophets. Forever, the Word of God is settled...no addition and no subtraction...from Genesis to Revelation... Tithing was, is and will continue to be a doctrine, instituted and upheld by God (Jesus), in every True Church of the Living God. Note: For every original, there is a fake/counterfeit...There are fake preaches everywhere, as prophesied, that front for the devil, their master and also fake believers/members...Whoever preaches/teaches will sort it out with his Manufacturer (God) in the hereafter... Simple... I am a Christian from Heaven and surely going back there....Thank you Jesus. |

Does this mean cos Christians don't follow OT , there is no need to tithe ? |

I'm feeling a seed of doubt sown in me with regards to tithe being legit, as I'm told by Christians that they DON'T follow the OT. |

Hello Facheux, the New Testament is a prophetic confirmation of the Old Testament...Jesus did that job...Matthew 5:17 Tithing is mandatory and non-tithers are robbers... Malachi 3: 8 - 12. A genuine and practising Christian pays his/her tithe, as commanded. False Teachers/Preachers and their disciples set new standards for themselves...God cannot change nor lower His standard... I am a Christian from Heaven and surely will be back there...Thank You Jesus. |

CHEUARIN:I've read your post and fully understand your position. Many others , not you, in this very forum have explicitly told me they don't do Old Testament. Much like yourself , they are telling me they are Christian. I guess now it comes down to either 1) different denominations of Christians follow different parts of the Bible or 2) perhaps there are some who cherry pick and do as thou art wilt on a case by case basis. |
