remmyjay007:Yes, you can start with a few seedlings and after your first harvest you can then expand. |

A demonstration farm about one hour plus drive away from Nairobi where training on how to organically grow fruits, herbs and spices takes place. Rabbit urine and earthworm's waste plays a central role in achieving sweet harvests. From Strawberries, Pepino melons, Sage, Chia seeds, Peppermint, Thyme, Parsley, Marjoram, Coriander, Rosemary,Mulberry, Fennel,Gooseberries and tens of other short term crops. It is really inspiring.

Love to have these in the kitchen! Currently have one on my Kitchen's counter top, bought it on the 23rd of December and today is day 75 and still looking good as day one, destination is 90 days. Researching on how good it will be after such duration, farmers will never be forced to sell off, as long as it was harvested at full maturity. Based on the post of the farmer who grew these ''We harvested 17 squash from 2 plants on 2 trellises, growing within about 16 square feet of garden bed.....These 17 squash weighed 40 pounds (18kg)''

Saw an advert where the attached picture was posted, the Advert is sponsored by a big Kenyan agro exporting firm that massively exports Dutch potatoes, fruits and vegetables to Europe. They are looking for farmers who grow the pepper organically as they intend buying tonnes of it for export, What caught my attention was many Kenyans saying if the company was to be Nigeria based it would be easier to source it as Nigerians are more into the variety! Truly Kenyans farmers don't grow much of it that is why it is not commonly seen in the market as one is only sure to see it in Indian owned grocery stores as Indians consumes it like us. This shows we have crops that have huge market potentials but lack of adequate knowledge and logistics is just what is hindering us! ![]()

Pavore9:Sir, I have been a keen follower of your ideas. I would like to come to Kenya and acquire knowledge on green house construction and farming techniques. Also, get exposure on markets. Where do I need to start from? |

prologue:You need to list out what you intend to achieve while visiting Kenya and weeks before arrival engage with the persons/institutions you want to learn from. That would help you calculate time and costs. |

Pepino melons helps in lowering blood pressure, stroke and liver problems. Harvest is about 4 to 5 months after planting. Nigeria's weather is ideal for its cultivation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnCJNs0bxM4

I think a specie of pepino melon is already being grown in Nigeria. The one that I saw around here during its season is all yellow/lemon colour (no strip) & "oval" shaped (not round/circular like this). I hv eaten it & it has a weird swt taste. Sorry I don't hv d pix Pavore9: |

Same here. Am not a fan of poultry but love d sight of exotic birds like guinea fowl, turkey & ducks. I intend to farm it ds year. But d challenge is d small/weight size. It still can't compete with chicken in terms of size/weight. Or is there any (guinea fowl) hybrid of better weight around? Pavore9: |
