2 Billion NAIRA! How much interest will that money yield if in GTB savings account for the period of trial?

Make the trial come long like typical election petition...

Anyways, if Badeh can afford 2B naira bail, he MUST be guilty. NO public servant who recently retired can afford such.
And I thought Metuh's bail was Nigerian record.

Keep calm sir,let me educate u small.Badeh wnt pay 2biion naira in cash, his sureties will pay only if HE RUN away out of the country or refuse to continue the trial.........

Read the post again both first and second paragraph, u will understand better...

"Justice Okon Abang of the federal high court, Abuja, has granted Alex Badeh, former chief of defence staff, bail in the sum N2bn, and two sureties in the sum N1bn each.

According to the judge, the sureties must reside in Abuja."

Check yer dico nd look for meaning of sureties, most people on this thread dnt understand the content before comments.

This is absolute nonsense. Bail on what grounds? Being an orphan or having kidney stones? Quite frankly, I have lost respect for the judiciary and all its corruptible judges. I agree with Obj that the EFCC is just a toothless bulldog. They should save themselves the drama of having to arrest these thieves. They should just walk up to them and ask for their percentage of the loot and spare us the drama.

Young woman, pls before u proceed with ur vexation for the judiciary, let's look at the condition of the bail. He is alleged to have stolen 3.9billion naira and he has been asked to be bailed for 4billion naira(2billions and 1billion each from 2 sureties).... Fair enough, don't u think?

After this, he will face a lengthy trial with his attorneys milking him seriously after which he will still end up in kuje.

Now this is change, if u will agree with me though

It's a bailable offence my dear and that is the LAW.

Let Badeh and his defence team put up their defence and be heard. That's also the LAW

To do otherwise is to resort to offend the spirit and letters of our grund norm.

Badeh will definitely have his day in court.

Can bet you justice will be served hot and fresh.

Sorry my friend, you are so wrong . Badeh and his friends will not put down one kobo and he will detention because he will meet the conditions.

As long he and his friends can demonstrate to the court that if he absconds they will bring the bail money (N4bn or whatever), he will be granted bail.

Usually the prove is in landed property with C of O to the value of the bail amount. Easy done if you have property in certain parts of Abuja.

Hahahaha! This Abang wicked no be small. You stole 3.9b and u are asked to returned 4b first before we begin talk. What a wicked world we are!
This judge must have thought he had the 3.9b kept in a bank and then must have accrued 100m as interest.... Fair thinking though.
I come begin feel for the badoo Badeh sha.... Poor boy.

The message from the judge is simple, return the money with interest and have a soft landing.

Badeh don enter am....
Him go try for prison because even if he can cough out 2b in cash, I wonder where those sureties will get 1b each with this wobbling economy of ours.

Authoritative sources have it that EFCC didnt find one kobo in Badeh's house..

Like many people said, all this media trial is not helping the govt..

They simply arrest someone, detain the person unlawfully and start looking for evidence that doesnt exist.

Looooool @ authoritative source.Which source is authoritative ?Badeh, his lawyer, you or efcc?Read the post again and you will see the efcc AUTHORITATIVELY saying 1million USD was found in Badeh's house hence one of the reasons he should not be granted bail hence this beautiful and 'impossible' bail.

No my dear the jokes on you. We still have to follow due judicial process so these thieves don't get acquitted on a technicality. He is presently not a threat to national security, himself or anyone so he has a right to bail.

lets see who will come up with a bond to cover the bail amount, that's were the story would get interesting.

Stop ranting. Its a simple matter of procedural laws, the Judiciary don't make the laws governing bail, the legislative arm of government through enactments do and the judiciary simply apply them. The judge stated the grounds for granting the bail and attached relevant conditions thereto after weighing in the severity of the accusations leveled against Badeh.
Biko, leave our bench alone. We know they all ain't saint, but Judge Abang has not erred here. Period.
