Firstly, The National assembly does not have the authority to give such direction...most of them are clowns anyway so they wouldn't know where their power stop or begin

NASS is a toothless dog that barks only but can't bite. You should have rejected that bill and beat the hell out of that punk that brought silly crazy bill to you. On the issue of estimation, when you see a capital letter D printed on your bill it means you are under observation for estimation and if it is an E then you have been placed on full bill estimation. You must learn how to read the meter when the EEDC officer come around to read the bill and make sure you snap the meter to get the reading. So you can tackle those bastards head on. One funny lie told by these people is that your analogue meter is over 40 years old and it is not functioning well. It's all lie!

And for that Fashola who is hell bent in increasing the tarrif, he should make sure power has improve if not he should also charge us for using the sunlight for drying our clothes. Fake people

My man they don't read our meter at all, they never have for years. The bills just roll in on estimation. Just like that, consumption used to be around 150units for my office and suddenly, poof! 100% increase to 300units.
Re: Did The National Assembly Finally Okay The Increase In Electricity Tariff? by FLYFIRE(m): 6:44pm On Mar 10, 2016
The increase took effect from 1st February & still running. They have refused to take back the increase despite Senate's order.

If the bill didn't reflect FIXED charges, then its a welcome development. My advice pls go and get prepaid meter ASAP. Way to go.

Help me ask them o, this Fashola sef, he should better know what he's doing. The new tariff is freaking insane. The fixed charge of N750 per month is even better than this rubbish he did, and we go still use money buy fuel at N130 per liter to power gen. We must put an end to this exploitation.

It's LadyF again angry angry angry

Not only strike, my brother, we should also stage a protest, a violent one.
Violent protest against people that are flying on air 24hour? Its only God that will bring them down as he has already started.

Hmmm

Life in Nigeria gets harder by the day.

I blame the government (both past and present), the masses etc. We are our problem.

I really need an answer too. My Feb bill from Jos Elect Distr shows over 70% increase from 7k to 12k. I don't really understand. God will surely deliver us from the wicked task masters over Nigeria that are making things hard for the masses.

I honestly don't mind the increase. I will pay 20k a month for 20 hours power supply. Currently paying 3-5k a month on prepaid metre and about 40k on generator a month. Makes no sense.
What is this THING saying? Are you alright at all.....who cares about you......we are talking about the draconian measures put in our power sector to stiffle the masses despite chanting CHANGE before election.

Pls tell us where we can get yhis invisible prepaid meter.these people are deliberately hoarding the meters to continue their extortion unhindered. This is a country where govt connive with corporations to steal from the masses.
I had to visit EKEDP this morning to query the crazy bill they sent me for last month.I also noticed my consumption for unavailable power increased by more 150% .I went to inform them that I'm not paying a dime and if they come for disconnection they should expect a letter from my layers demanding immediate closure of my account and to stop sending the useless bill.Frankly speaking I have decided to use my generator pending when they can avail me the prepaid meter.

Most of these discos are deliberately hoarding the smart prepaid meters to continue estimated billing. The new tarriff must be discontinued until the smart prepaid meters have been distributed to the last house /industry.

@op. the discos are backed by law with the tariff, and an agreement was signed for incremental tariff since the last dispensation, it was referred to as the multi year tariff order, however, the discos have also failed to honour their own side of the bargain to ensure all customers are metered by sometime in 2014.

This Tariff plan is fine for me, i pay when there light. And that should encourage them to do more.As for Senate they are mere adviser, their resolution is not binding on the executive, except they make it a law and Buhari will not sign that.

Infact, have called so many times, send numerous emails to complain about the outrageous bill am been given.Still the more I complain, the more it gets outrageous.Just that I don't want to take the law into my hands.Have decided that any of their staffs that woke up on the wrong side of the bed and dreamed of disconnecting my electric wire from the pole.He can climb his ladder, but the certainty of coming down in one peace.......hmmm,am not sure of that.
