The Red Devils signed young defender Matthew Olosunde in January and, having been granted international clearance, he has been included in their Under-18 squadMatthew Olosunde is set to make his debut for Manchester United on Friday, having been named in the Under-18 squad to face Brighton and Hove Albion. The defender, who can play at centre-back and right-back, has been granted international clearance for his move to Old Trafford, after agreeing to move to the club from Duke University. Olosunde had previously played for New York Red Bulls but left the club in order to pursue his academic interests, though he is now poised to begin his Old Trafford career. “Matthew is a fantastic player who is comfortable playing in the back or in midfield. He has wicked pace and has incredible defensive recovery speed," Duke head coach John Kerr is quoted as saying by Go Dukes after securing his signature earlier this year. Louis van Gaal has given debuts to a number of young stars this season, so Olosunde will surely hope that a first- team bow beckons soon.
