In my place, the death of the king is never announced until a successor has been chosen. So most times the king would have been dead for months before the official announcement. Oba Omo N'Oba N'Edo Okuakpolokpolor was over 90 years old and if he is indeed dead as has been rumoured since May 2015, his death would not be out of place due to his age.
