Some people above me just dey foam like omo soap as if dey know more than the medical expert. In absent of incubator let them use one for 2 babies what matter most is their lives.
When you see something bad , speak out! Why would there not be more incubator in the first place ? Then an ancient one at that supposedly used by the Romans.

honestly its sad, once a friends new born had severe jaundice at birth, admitted at a general hospital in Lagos. the babies were made to take shift because of inadequate UV ray machines, thus spending more time at d hospital n d jaundice taking sooooooo long to at least reduce first b4 thinking of total cure,I really pitied d babies der.......Nigerian leaders. n greed, God help d common man

This is an opportunity for someone with some idle millions to start a cool business taking advantage of the high population and birth rate in Lagos. All you need is a building in a good location, generator, trained nurses and about 20 incubators, an ambulance service too will not be a bad idea.

Buhari won't react to this unless it happens in Duara or any other Fulani hospital.

In 2013, OAUTH's budget was $11 MILLION. In the same period , the budget for Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston was $750 billion.

In my opinion, the problem is that it is very difficult to adequately fund healthcare in Nigeria. A hospital in Nigeria cannot fund itself adequately from hospital fees, government funding is falling because Government has too many hospitals to fund. and there is the corruption.

Recently, State House hospital got more money than an average government run teaching hospital. While it was wrong....even if State House clinic had been funded at an amount less than that of the government hospital...it won;t be enough.

The only solution is to raise hospital fees, raise taxes to fund the hospitals better, and make the hospital public private. Oil prices have fallen, and even then, funding was still difficult.

Modified: Cost of an incubator:900-1800us dollars

Cost of twenty incubators: 18,000- 36000 us dollars

Cost in naira: 7.2MILLION naira.(http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/baby-incubator-price.html)
I salute you sir.

raise hospital bill, raise taxes.
and above all PPP. that is the best way for us to enjoy all this basic amenities.

Mind you, this issue is not only happening in the health sector, same apply to Education, Power etc.

for us as a nigeria to enjoy all this thing, we have to pay the price.

My problem with we nigerians is that, we are not ready to pay any price for anything, yet we want to enjoy the same thing which other people are paying heavily for, where is that done.

recently power sector came to mind, we complain BRF increase tariff, bla bla bla, now if Gov want to borrow to fund infrastructure, we will took to the street and social media again shouting they want to borrow to mortage our future and our children children future.

Nigerians we are set of complicated people in this world.

what now baffle me most is that this same nigerians travel out, and pay x10 in other country to enjoy this same service, but back home the street will be full of protest.

forgeting to know that even in FREETOWN, nothing is FREE

I think every region in Naija should have one unique hospital to cater for such emergencies. That way govt funding can be precise and localised. While the gen hospitals manage regular cases the specialist ones handle critical cases. It can be done.

Nonsense. How can one hospital have $750 billion as annual budget.

Liar! Show us your evidence.
