Hi guys,

Please i need your advises on how to solve this steering problem to my 2012 BMW 5series

Firstly, car was bought accidented
Accidents accurred at the boot side, so some cables burnt due to possible water that touched the wires and relay in the boot.

Car starts, and drives but the steering is so so very hard to steer.

When trying to turn steering, its like one is driving a 911

Kindly assist guys if you know very much about BMWs

is the power steering hydraulic or electronic? if its hydraulic, you might need to change the power steering and if electronics, a very good rewire that specializes in power steering will sort it for you. it happened to my car but the problem has been fixed.

[@akinloluwao, its electronic steering. I dont even know where to getba perfect BMW require anymore because i have tried guys from Alaba and also a rewire recommended to me at Festac. But still nothing. Was your car also a BMW? and can you your rewire to me? Regards

yes i am based in Lagos but my car is matrix 2010, the steering was very hard, a rewire around ogba fixed it for me and its perfectly ok now.

Your car uses an eps (electronic power steering) first thing to do is run a comprehensive scan. So as to ascertain the root of the problem. It could be

** a faulty power steerjng control unit
** electronic steering assembly
** low battery voltage or a low charging system

If you are in lagos and you need to fix the problem call multi autolab on 08156087872 or 08165520837. Bbpin is 7BE1C522

Why not check the fuse to your steering first

My brother, i have done that. Still no clue. Sometimes it gets soft and makes noise while you steer.

Used the term 911 as an example for a stif steering

Not yet. Though its in a work shop now. Am hoping the auto company sorts it out.
