lekkie073:I'm a yoruba man like you but let's call a spade a spade, lagos used to me a nice place but now it is an eyesore! A major part of the problem are the people from the SE who have, anywhere they go they spoil. |

Hahahhahahahahahahahahahaahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahhahahahahaahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahaahahahahahhaahahhahaahahahhahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ![]() Dafuq did I just read ![]() ? Ranked in terms of what? Men Nigerians and self deceit tho. Yeah ranking Lagos with say some suburbs in Johannesburg or some parts of Pretoria, or maybe some downtown areas in Atlanta Georgia fine. The only city Lagos should realistically be ranked with is mumbai in India.Have you been to any of those cities ? Lagos doesn't have one third the facilities it takes to be mentioned in the same sentence with cities like NY, Johannesburg, or Beijing. Talkless of being ranked maybe in crime rate yes but anything positive otherwise would be misleading |

lekkie073:The only state that is entirely run and controlled by non indegine. I think the igbos call lagos Nomansland. The only state that have igbos both in state and federal assembly, hoping to produce the first governor by the year 3031. 100 yrs was used to build this great state with Our SS oil wealth. All the fly over, sea port, entire island, Airport etc was built by our oil. Ipobs should invest more in SS than to dominate the building of Altlantic city. Thank God for our oil. |

malton:True, but which part of Lagos isn't a ghetto? Is it Ikoyi, where you see pothole ridden roads and shanty towns next to multimillion dollar houses, or Lekki where thanks to our brothers from the southeast they have completely destroyed the place. The only part of Lagos that is relatively passable is Banana island and once Linda Ikeji moved in that was the beginning of the end, like I said anywhere these people go give them time they spoil. Point is every other megacity has a few Ghettos, Lagos is the opposite, a megacity of ghettos with a few livable areas. |

Rayhutar:that guy may likely come from Oshogbo and he is here claiming lagos. 80% of people living in lagos are not from lagos. One silly person will come from Ibadan or Ogbomoso and be forming lagos. Remove lagos from sw and tell me where else they've got? Go to se and see the likes of Enugu, Onitsha, Aba, Nnewi, Awka, and the list goes on. They are not just proud of where they came from because there's nothing to write home about it. That's why all of them are from lagos |

Lagos is d only city without good rail system out of all. Ambode, please focus on water transport by acquiring modern boats and subsidize the cost for the benefit of d poor masses. |

Lol. This is like ranking a football club in the Nigerian league with English premiership clubs cos apart from population, Lagos has nothing in common with these cities. Lagos is a huge slum in urgent need of decongestion and proper planning. Lagos stinks. |

stephenduru:In other words, This is a big bad news for Lagos, and its government realy need to do something about it. The state is a big time bomb for itself and the entire Nigerian alone. Because once Lagos explodes, the entire Nigeria will be diseased. As at the time I did my demographic enquiry and data caption, I discovered Lagos is a home to 27 million people. Lagos is the smallest among all the Nigerian States. Lagos is a state designed to hold just 3 million people and 5million at its brink. The yield point and break point has been over stretched and abused and its as if the people in the state now live like sardine in a can and titus and mackarel in a tin. Only 1.3 milllion feel the direct impact of its government. and another handful of 200,000 are people from oil rich states, politicians and people from over sea who invest in Lagos property. The FAO has predicted that 65million people in the city will be hit by poverty by 2025 and Lagos State should expect its worst hit of the Lots as only those who earn #150,000 naira at the end of the month will be saved. The government of Lagos needs to work in conjunction with federal government and the world bank to pay people incentives to leave and go and start farming in the other fertile lands of Nigeria begging for attention. There are too many useful idle hands in Lagos and if nothing is done to intervene in their plight, the government of Lagos and its host community will regret this bitterly someday. An idle mind is the devils work station. Poverty and the lack of the needful education is the fundamental cause of violence. It is too obscene seeing 5 men and a family of 6 living in one room apartment just as it is worse to find a family of 6 maintain a room and parlour apartment, and yet you find other compound populated like military Battalion Command and barracks. That is the begining of the school and studio of poverty that will birth the anticipated violence and revolt against the government when the people become so frustrated and choked up that they cant hold it. The Lagos state government must be vigilant and perform its duty to further prevents the breakdown of law and order and wasteful budgets in its states. Empower people and not sweet tongue/sweet talk them in the name of carrying everybody along in the name of politics when you know you cannot help and lack the power to do that. Nigeria as a country is a jewel and there are other parts and tribes of Nigeria with staggaring Industrial power and Agricultural opportunity wasting away. Most hospitable and beautiful states in the North, South and East has been demonized in the name of bastardized politics, religion and violence culture. I tell people, if you have spent 2 to 20yrs in Lagos and no tangible result, you will have to move out like father Abraham did in the Bible and start something reasonable in the other part of Nigeria. If you are the hardworking type that can work with your 2 hands & not lazy, With a budget of 20k to 100k, You can achieve much if you go into Agriculture with a few acres of land say 2 to 50 Acres in the space of 3-4 months of harvest. That is why you will never find a man from Niger State in Lagos or Abuja or Port Harcourt except he is a civil servant posted there or Just visiting from states to states offloading his trailer loads of food items and making his money cash and carry on delivery spot. That is why an anverage Aboki man from the North will always be richer than a city Professor. That is why the North will still produce the top 20 richest Nigeria in the Next 100yrs. Hunger does not know rich man or poor man. Thats why Agric will always top the list of profession to beat the likes of Medicine, Architecture, Petroleum, Law & Accountancy. Thank God for the work of the National Open University across Nigeria in its Education & Extension program. By Adewale Oladipupo. To partner wt me in Agric call 09099176956, 08141208884, 09022605663. |

garfield16:SE have always been present in Lagos since its industrialisation. It not fair to blame them. going by your logic one would deduce that Ibadan and ife are better than what we have here east of the Niger (which certainly isn't true) Lagos problems are in extension Nigerias problem. their is simply no other state in Nigeria that's it's economic equal hence, overpopulation. |
