Buratai Visits Onitsha, Tasks Army On Professionalism by tochilastborn(m): 6:24am On Mar 18, 2016
Nnewi—The Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Tukur Buratai yesterday in Onitsha told officers and men of the 302 Artillary Regiment (General Support) to remain professional and responsive in the discharge of their duties, saying that if they observe the rules of their engagement, there will not be any issue of human rights violation in the discharge of their jobs.

Gen Burutai who was flanked by the General Officer Commanding, GOC, 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. Attahiru, Commander of 302 Artillery Regiment, Col. Isah Abdullahi, and Commanding Officer 14 Field Engineer Regiment, Lt. Col. Sheriff Aremu told the officers and men that their colleagues in the North East are doing them proud and they should live up to their job in the state.

He acknowledged that the soldiers have a lot of problems militating against their jobs, but assured them that these problems are being addressed especially accommodation and other issues, saying that in no distant time, those problems will be a thing of the past.

“I am here for the first time as the Chief of Army Staff to familiarize with you and know some of the problems you face, and the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari is sincere in addressing your welfare issues and the only way to pay back for his genuine commitment is to work hard and according to the rules of your engagement.

“The barracks will be put in proper shape for you and I will like to urge you to be loyal and patriotic in the course of your duties, you have your rules of engagement and you must abide by it, as long as you work according to it, the issue of human rights violation will not be an issue, you must also be your brothers keeper, by helping each other” he said.

Gen. Burutai also paid a courtesy call on Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State at Governor’s Lodge Amawabia Awka where he also commended him for the cooperation he is giving the military in the state and urged him to continue as his men will help to ensure security like they have always done in the state.

Governor Obiano thanked Gen Burutai for the visit and assured him of more cooperation with the military, just as he expressed satisfaction with their performance in the state, and their collaboration and support to his administration.

Stop killing Igbo youths

Tell those youth to stop constituting nuisance.

If you want to protest, get permit from NPF. Dont attack or intimidate people and try not to block public roads. Hence, we will deploy our gallant men to treat you like a goat

In your thinking, how civilised countries respond to the nonsense you wrote above is to start shooting people.

You people are really funny. The story you posted above involved violence by the people involved. What has that got to do with peaceful protesters who engaged in no violence? Or don't you understand basic English? So waving a flag is violence? Singing solidarity songs is violence? Coming out in mass and blocking a road is violence? How is being a public nuisance an act of violence worthy of shooting people? This uncivilised mentality of the black race is why we nowhere

There is nothing peaceful in blocking the federal road for days.

There is nothing peaceful in public disturbance.

There is nothing peaceful in burning down trucks belong to Dangote.

There is nothing peaceful in burning mosques and attacking Hausas.

There is nothing peaceful in initimidating, harrassing non protesters.

There is nothing peaceful in a protest that is turning blooding.

There is nothing peaceful in a protest against the sovereignty of the state.

In civilized countries, firstly, riot police are deployed to protests not the army, secondly, they dont address the situation by shooting at protesters.

fortunately for the nigerian army though, nigeria is not a civilized country.

Yoruba people **** The trucks and Mosques that attacked only happend after your Soldiers turned into murderers by shooting unarmed people and the anger that followed this. Since there is nothing like peaceful protest, tell your people to change the constitution to remove freedom of movement and expression. Also tell your people to ammend the constitution to to make is legal to shoot unarmed civilians.
And they wonder why some people refer to Nigeria as a zoo
