I've got a question, is it really necessary to have directors of football?

A pal of mine who is a fellow blue was writing on his blog and he had this to say:

The simple answer is corporate interests.

Theres a lot more money in the game now than ever before in the history of the sport: A lot more to win, and a lot more to lose.

Given the historically transient nature of the manager's job, it makes sense that the club has some control over the kind of players they recruit.

It is better that a club has a a vision and preferred style, and continues to recruit players to fit this parameters, than to have successive managers with different philosophies recruiting different kind of players, and resulting in a a squad that doesn't fit or gel...

That is at least the argument for a DoF on paper.

Whether it works in practice is a different story.

For all I care Ibra didn't do much in those games. Infact, he was busy forming boss. Anyone who says Ibra is what Chelsea needs, I no know wetin make I talk. I would ask if the person has been watching Basketball in the last few years.

If anything, Chelsea needs a younger dude who would be willing to walk the walk with the team. Someone who is prolific in scoring goals. Someone who would be ready to give his all. Someone who is cool headed, unless una want person like Costa. Someone who will be proud to defend the Chelsea badge, unless you guys are content with having people who don't give a heck about the badge. Someone who will easily slot himself in the dressing room harmoniously.

The aforementioned qualities ain't stuffs Ibra has at this juncture at least. At Chelsea's present predicament, you guys need players who will be committed in every sense of the word.
