Micro blogging website, Twitter, suspended the account of New York based online newspaper, Sahara Reporters, for tweeting false and malicious news.

The suspension was as a result of Sahara Reporters’ posting details of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Access Bank account number.

The news medium claimed Saraki used the said account to divert funds from the Kwara State government between 2011 and 2013 after his tenure as a governor.

Founder of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, claims Twitter did not act independently but merely “succumbed to threats by Saraki.”

This is not the first time the controversial news platform is struggling to remain above water with a social media website.

On June 29, days after Saraki became Senate President, Facebook suspended Sahara Reporters’ Facebook account for posting a photoshopped United Kingdom international passport of Saraki.

The issue was however resolved.Sowore revealed that Sahara Reporters had sorted issues out with Twitter and it’s account is once again active.

Sahara Reporters is yet to provide any evidence to support its claim that Saraki is behind its ordeals with the two social media giants.

Saraki, should just sit in dock and face his trial if he thinks he is innocent. Proof to whole world that is just witch hunting and political motivated.

Sahara Reporters is the electronic media wing of Lai Mohammed.

Not even the bank has permission to publish it's customers details(unless in rear cases which the court grants an order)....talkless of Sahara reporters,in saner countries they would have been sued..

Saraki may be a treasury looter , but until he is formally convicted, posting his personal details online equals invasion of privacy which the country both Twitter & FB are domiciled in frowns at ......

Same way they hounded wikileaks, however SR is doing Nigeria community service...

Investigate repOrtage & whistle blowing is alien in this clime, Sahara is filling the gap.

Saraki can't block Twitter in Nigeria. The internet is censored in China, its not censored in Nigeria.
