Still A Christian, When Was The Last Time You Did Any Of These?

Some will say, it's not 'works' but 'grace'. The same Grace Jesus had yet He worked all day and night for His Father.

If you call yourself a "Christian" and haven't done some or all of these, 3 things are involved;

- You are backslidden.

- Your church doesn't really teach stuff like these or...

- You have chosen to ignore the demands/promptings of the Holy Spirit.

If you are (or really, badly want to be) a true disciple of Jesus, these seven things should not be far-fetched from your habits:

1. Evangelizing

I laugh when I hear people, 'My money can be used to preach the gospel, as for me, No Time!" Yes, you can't preach globally, what about those sinners around you? Your siblings? Friends? Neighbours? This is the GREAT COMMISION for ALL! You drink or sleep with them but can't preach to them. lipsrsealed

2. Praying for those who don't want you to succeed.

In a world of ours, 'anyone against my progress, DIE BY FIRE', is now the norm. Is this only what Jesus taught us? There is more to prayer than "FALL down and DIE!!!" Prayer for others is a mystery that reminds God of our own needs.

3. Loving Our "Haters"

I still remember that doing so "will HEAP COAL OF FIRE on their heads" as the Bible puts it. When was the last time you showed mercy to the merciless? Do you testify in church just because your prayers in rendering an innocent man a widower was answered? What of apologizing even when you're palpably right.

4. Really read your Bible

It's true, "social media sites are gradually stealing away God's people". I have been guilty sometimes too. If only you can spend half the time you spend on Facebook, BBM and whatsapp! This BOOK will keep you from sin and sin will keep you from this BOOK - Immortal John Bunyan. Each time I've fallen, I wasn't reading my Bible. sad

5. Gave God an ample sum of money and didn't announce it.

You'll see people give with one hand and broadcast with the other. Little wonder, the seed fails to reproduce maximally.

6. Humble yourself enough to sit wherever the usher asks you to.

The usher sef, her shoe and appearance aren't as commanding as yours and she wants to command you to sit in the front row. I even kneemw when she started this church and gave her life to Christ. Hmm

7. Pray till you had an heavenly experience

I have come to understand as a Christian, 'you are as weak or strong as your prayer life". Of course, I'm not talking about, "Gimmie gimmie kinda prayer". A prayer of Consecration or Dedication always and have proven to be more powerful than the rest.

Mid-week services and Cell fellowship are OUT of some folk's programme. They may be leaders in church yet so busy to do the First works- First Love.

When was the last time you spent quality time with your Father? Not in church but alone. This is a question for all of us.

So after doing all these, the person cannot say No to fornication and adultery...Is he/she still a christian?

I love this elements! Thank you. so many of us say it is by grace yet we go to sleep without raising a finger to do one or two things to show that it is really by grace. someone once said " grace is the ability God has given me to make changes. this is so true. so grace is there for every born again but we have to work the works to show we are under grace. May the Lord help us all by the Holy Spirit!

All sad expect No6, for pete's sake am not a chess piece, so i sit where i want to, those ushers get wahala, they would cleary see you are with someone but would decide to separate you, i don't like that.

Allow them guide you always even if they separate you from someone you came to church with. Remember, they may not be doing that intentionally but through the leading of the Spirit. Positioning matters a lot in church. So allow the Spirit place you where you should be to be able to receive from the same Spirit you went to visit. Again, your Pastor put them there, so disobeying them is disobeying your man of God which isn't good.

@emusmith, modify your post. Jesus didn't have grace to do all he did. He's the bringer of grace. He died so we could have the grace to do more than he did. Nice write-up though.

undecided and where is it written in the Bible, that where i sit matters ?

What if its the same Holy Spirit that is the one guiding me to sit where i wanted, but they are trying to lead me away from there ?

To me as long as you sit at the right place, their guidiance doesn't matter

Overall a good post.
Can you please explain to others HOW YOU give God money
I hope you know that God is NOT the same as your church or pastor.
Thanks.

You may wish to reflect on the words of Jesus Christ (Prophet Isa to the Muslims) below before you reply.

Matthew 25

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

I will not pray for my haters. I will simply pray that God should blind their eyes so that they will not see me to hate. God punish devil angry

My brother, it reminds me of the old man who got his flying license at the age of 71. The person responsible, his own aunt had long died before his eyes became clear. Now tell me who wants to employ a 71 year old pilot??

That is how they will be saying pray for your enemies and haters meanwhile they are causing havoc in your life. They are saying destiny can only be delayed it cannot be denied. Let them delay your destiny till you reach 71 years, when you can no longer make use of the destiny.

God punish my enemies. Holy Ghost fire scatter them angry

Did the 71 year old pilot tell you that he trained so as to be employed.
Have you considered that he might have done so for his own self-actualisation and sense of personal accomplishment?
What makes you think that everyone is about employment and money?
Abeg open your eyes and broaden your horizons, bro.
