Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has extolled the Bible saying the recipe for all that people look for in life can be found in the book. He spoke when the Bible Society of Nigeria, Benue Area, visited him at the Benue Peoples House.

"The Bible is one book that remains the best book in the world, as far as I'm concerned," he stated." What people are looking for is in the Bible, I can testify to that, I owe all that I do and have to the Scriptures."

He commended members of the society for what he described as their good work in distributing "the book of life".Quoting Joshua 1: 8 and James 1:25 the Governor said "if you want success, you go to the book of life. He promised to assist the society to host a successful annual general meeting in the state.

Chairman of the Bible Society of Nigeria, Benue Area, Comrade Francis Iortyom, said the society identified with Governor Ortom’s pursuit to uplift the state to an enviable height.He solicited assistance to host the annual general meeting coming up in the state, a distribution van, access road to their secretariat, and funds to print the revised Tiv Bible. The Chairman presented copies of the Bible and other literature to Governor Ortom.
