The Super Eagles preparations ahead of the
first leg of the all-important 2017 African
Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt have
suffered a huge set-back as Arsenal
youngster Alex Iwobi took no part in the
Super Eagles’ training today March 22 in
Abuja, over a minor injury paving way for
England’s bid to secure the youngster.A top official close to the team disclosed
exclusively to Naij.com Sports in Abuja that
the player vomited earlier in the day,
possibly as a result of the food he ate and
was advised to stay back at the hotel.
The father of the youngster was also
present at the training session which was
open to the media and fans.
However, Iwobi have joined the party as
they proceed to Kaduna for final
preparations of the encounter billed to
hold at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium on
Friday March 25 at 4pm.
It would be recalled that the Arsenal
prodigy was the first overseas-based player
to arrive in the Super Eagles’ camp in
Abuja, and was joined by his
colleagues Umar Aminu and Godfrey
Oboabona, as well as John Mikel Obi, Odion
Ighalo and Aaron Samuel.
