In 1998 Amaechi was prevailed by his political benefactor, Dr. Peter Odili to pick the PDP House of Assembly nomination form for his Ikwerre constituency and in the party primary he was defeated. Odili Wade in and the winner of the party primary was "handsomely begged" to step down for Amaechi to fly the party flag. During the proper election, he was defeated by the opposition candidate but yet again victory was waved to his advantage. He went on to be handpicked by his benefactor, Odili to be the speaker of the state house of assembly.

When Odili tenure came to an end in 2007, he was the last person to pick the nomination form for the gubernatorial election because his benefactor had a change of heart and decided to compensate his political son. During the primary and sensing he'll be defeated, Odili prevailed on all the other candidates of the party to step down for him but things went awry and he ran away to Ghana. Celestine Omehia later became governor and Wike vows to enthroned Amaechi. Amaechi was later invited to come back and inherit a political position he neither contest nor campaign courtesy of Nyesom Wike.

In 2011, Amaechi was fighting the PDP leadership and begging to be handed the party gubernatorial ticket. He got it but the party hierarchy decided to plant yet again his cousin Celestine Omehia in APGA against him. There was protest votes against Amaechi and unofficially Omehia won the election but Wike and Co. made it possible for Amaechi to be announced official winner in an election he clearly loses. Wike magic made him the governor the second time.

Patriot, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has never won an election. He's one lucky nigga riding on the back of benevolent spirits.

Amaechi rigged his way into the Speakership and Governorship positions in River State when there were no card readers.
If he was sure he didn't rig his way up,he should go contest for ordinary Councillor if he would get one vote.
It's even evident in recent elections in the state. The time,energy and resources he has put in to install his candidates in this card reader era, he never used even half during his own time.
