OK I'm convinced RLC will make a good AM, but never a pivot midfielder. I had to go back and watch his game thoroughly. See the way this nigga dey pick up speed when he is attacking, but turn into Mikel Slowbi when he is defending. Sack Oscar and give him AM shirt till season end. |

See as Super Eagles squad full of local players. Shebi NFF rogues dey use them collect. Sone Aluko should be in the squad. Furthermore, we should be begging the likes of Dominic Iorfa, Jordan Obita and Moses Odubajo to play for us. That defence needs help. |

Ibime:I'd rather local players than foreign trash. I was just saying to my guys how Super Eagles never get the quality foreign players. Players like Alli, Ross Barkley, Ikechi Anya or even Femi Ibe. Instead with get the turds of the foreign born battalion - The Aptly named Danny SHITtu, Abbey George and the entire Sodje dynasty. AMEOBI. Even Carl Ikeme that can't see regular shirt at Wolverhampton is our undisputed number 1. I'd rather NPL players who are full Naija Jare..rather than the crap ones who knew they could never make England using us as a last chance for caps. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by lalaboi(m): 1:31pm On Mar 24, 2016 |
Nihilist:The guys you'd rather have fumbled during CHAN. The quality in Naija league is not what you seem it to be. No matter how average the supposed 'foreign based' players are, MAJORITY are still better than what we have back home because they have been exposed to experience outside the shores and different types of tactics. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 1:46pm On Mar 24, 2016 |
lalaboi:I disagree bro. Ameobi and those names I mentioned previously were just as crap, they only got into the SE via this same prejudice. You mean Iwobi that has probably played less than 10 games this season and only started 1 league game in his whole life deserves a call up? If we're going to play crap players, at least let us play local crap and at least give them a chance to showcase what little talent they have |

Nihilist:Have we not moved on from Ameobi and co's? Which of the current foreign based attackers does not deserve to be called up? Forward line - Ighalo, Iheanacho, Iwobi, Victor Moses, Moses Simon. These forwards are in form bar Simon Moses who isn't get much games in Gent but his reputation is known. How many of the local based players/strikers have you personally watched and ascertained that they are good enough and should start ahead of the above mentioned. Name 1. When was the last time you even watched an NPFL game? Do you follow it week in week out? I seriously doubt! The fact that the local eagles already failed at a local tournament means that they cannot be trusted at all! Iwobi's call up is more of securing his long term services for Nigeria. Or you think England would not call him up for an international had he not played for Nigeria before and we were trying to poach him?. Look what they did to Agbonlahor and co. . Iwobi whether you like it or not with his less than 10games so far this season is worth the call. How many games did Obafemi martins play for inter before getting called up for international duty and beasting on his debut? Until our local league is on the same level as those players in south africa/egypt and co, our local based players will not be good enough! |

Nihilist:I never watched Cryuff play live. My first memories of football was in 1987 which was Nigerian NT, foreign football was Euro 88 and Italia 90 I heard he is in the argument for Greatest of all time and he led the Ajax revolution that won several CL trophies. Also as manager he is credited with bringing the Ajax style to Barcelona. The Rinus Michel total football thingy |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 2:49pm On Mar 24, 2016 |
lalaboi:Completely different argument.... I'm not arguing against foreign based players....I'm arguing against foreign born players...and to be more particular, the foreign born players that are too shyt to turn out for their countries of birth, and are using Nigeria as an escape route to International Football. Hence my examples were Abbey George, Danny Shittu, Shola Ameobi or Victor Anichebe....and not Victor Moses or Ighalo Iwobi's call up is more of securing his long term services for Nigeria. Or you think England would not call him up for an international had he not played for Nigeria before and we were trying to poach him?. Look what they did to Agbonlahor and co. . Iwobi whether you like it or not with his less than 10games so far this season is worth the call. How many games did Obafemi martins play for inter before getting called up for international duty and beasting on his debut?I most definitely don't think Iwobi is worth the callup. He's getting a run in the team merely because he just signed a new contract and Arsene is keeping him on side. Surely you must recognise that Iwobi is just the latest Incarnation of Wenger's Babes...The guy is not even that good sef. Until our local league is on the same level as those playe din south africa/egypt and co, our local based players will not be good enoughPlayers who are regularly playing in the NFPL should be picked over the Bench Warmers. Efe sodje was born in England, lived in England and was warming the bench at a League 2 side when he first turned out for the SE.Sam Sodje was playing league 1 football. Na these type we suppose dey call up at the expense of local talent? I'd rather pick the likes of Sunday Mba, Oboabona and Egwueke, expose their talent to the world, and help them to get a better life via Internationals than pick a Shola Ameobi who rode the bench his entire career, plays like a bag of beans, and was still playing for Nigeria at the World Cup even after being sacked from his club. |

| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by lalaboi(m): 3:15pm On Mar 24, 2016 |
Nihilist:So what is the point og bringing up these names in 2016? Efe Sodje and abbey George had short stints between 2000 and 2004. They had like 10-12 caps each. Anichebe was born in Nigeria and has never really had a prolonged stay in the side due to injuries. Even Shittu was born in Nigeria and he's the only one on your list to have amassed enough number of games. In this current team, only Leon Balogun Iwobi comes to mind and you cannot say he does not have potential. A youngster playing for arsenal? not worth it? Come on bro.. Sunday Mba? Really? Have you even being following up on this guy? wrongest decision to play for a league 2 french team and has not even progressed outside naija Oboabona has been playing outside Nigeria for at least 2-3 years and is a regular who gets called up when he's not injured. Egwueke, That one na defender? Overall, I get what you mean now but we don't have the kind of power or might to control who these foreign born Nigerians play for. Iwobi is not on the same class as those you mentioned. He plays for a top english side and is on form. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 3:50pm On Mar 24, 2016 |
lalaboi:You are arguing purely for the sake of argument. I went back memory lane listing some of the foreign born/raised dross that have turned out in the green and white simply because they could never play for England. My original post, when placed in it's proper context was a response to Ibime advocating callups for Dominic Iorfa, Jordan Obita and Moses Odubajo...who in my opinion are just more of the same type of foreign born/raised dross who can't make into the national teams of the countries they were born/raised in. Sunday Mba? Really? Have you even being following up on this guy? wrongest decision to play for a league 2 french team and has not even progressed outside naijaAgain you are missing the point. SE provided the springboard for these guys to launch their careers outside Nigeria and move to Europe. I think that we should be prioritising SE shirt to Nigerian league players where possible. Obviously foreign based talented players should be in the squad, but when it comes to picking from a pool of foreign shyt and Nigerian shyt, surely the Nigerian based shyt should get dibs, No? |

Nihilist:Look at the alternatives. Egwueke and co? Spits. The 3 players I mentioned are quality and just a matter of time before they are playing in the Prem. Nigerias best defenders (Oboabona and Omeruo) are no higher than Championship level. Omeruo could not break into Middlesbrough team last year. Compare and contrast with Odubajo (Championship best 11), Dominic Iorfa (Championship best 11 and wanted by many Prem clubs) and Jordan Obita (wanted by Arsenal and Liverpool before his injury). You can see that these players are better than our first team defenders and all young players who are heading for the Prem, not like Sodje and Abbey who spent the bulk of their careers in League1 and League2. Also if you are old enough you will know Dominic Iorfa is not some foreigner because his father played for Super Eagles. He is as much Nigerian as Alex Iwobi whose uncle is JayJay Okocha. Also Danny Shittu was Naijas best defender when he played for Eagles. Its all about what alternatives there are and Danny was better than the alternatives. While Joseph Yobo used to dance Azonto when anyone ran at him from 2008 onward, Shittu was the one keeping it solid. |
