Anambra leads Nigerian kids to Croatia Int'l debating contest

Governor Wille Obiano has expressed joy that his special interest and investment in the education sector has continued to yield expected commendable results.

Speaking in a keynote address to declare the 3rd Anambra Book and Cre-ativity Festival open in Awka yesterday, the governor stated that his resolve while coming on board was to turn the state into the number one choice location for both foreign and local investments. He said he was also determined to recapture its hitherto status of being the hub of industrializa-tion and the most socially stable state in the country.

Obiano who was represented by the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr (Mrs) Uju Nwogu, cheerfully acknowledged that the vision had been paying off commend¬ably.

The Commissioner described the Governor as a lover of literary works and talents, and has invested so much in the education sector that enabled the state get back its lofty heights and enviable position in the sec¬tor in the country.

The Governor said it was for this reason that the Book Reading Society was established in schools in the state which has seen the state continue to win vari¬ous academic awards across the country and the world. He disclosed that Anambra had also come out tops in the debating champion¬ship in the country.

This, he pointed out now bestowed on Anambra the duty to lead the country to the 2016 World Debating champion¬ship in Croatia
.
In his opening remarks, the chairman of the 2015

Focus on your useless and worthless imo state as the thread is not about Anambra. Do you want us to expose the internal debt owed by imo state? This is just an external debt. Could you add the 26b collected by Okorocha from FG bailout and other internal loans, then give us the total. Even though there is nothing to show for it anywhere on the ground.

Ebonyi is a quiet State that's all. Abia under much hated Theodore Orji had their debt reduced though it might be as a result of his refusal to go into capital intensive projects. It might increase under Ikpeazu.

Edo and Cross River are the most indebted in South South while Anambra and Enugu are Southeast most indebted.

Externally. I presume.

You have debt and I have debt, but I have equity because I have houses and cars to show for my debt to benefit many generations to come, but you have nothing to show for your debt, you have no equity and nothing to benefit your people even generations to come.

So, who is really in trouble? You of course since you can not account or show where your money went.

It's common sense, but not many people are blessed with it.

What are you saying Mr Obi? If you had used the billions that came to the state during your 8 year tenure to start and complete those projects maybe Obiano will now be concerned with just building Agric settlement, paying salaries, beautification of the capitals.
The opening up of Anambra East/West/ Anyamelum will go down in history as one the best initiatives of Obiano administration. It matters little if he takes loan to accelerate the development and kickstart the economic activities in that block
Now you have farms, industries and oil facilities connected to the mainland. Investors lobbying to get a piece of the show at that arena
Don't also forget that Obiano is also set at unveiling a brand new Awka city
Tell one signature Project you started and completed in the State during your tenure, you were quick to initiate some road, mall and flyover constructions at the tail end of your administration and of course, you did, got your 10% from the mobilization fees and took off
If you so love Anambra return just N20 billion to Anambra and see Awka brighten up in 6 months.

The guy does not deserve a response. With the enormous transformation going on in Anambra I will always support Obiano despite the fact that Obi did very well too in his own capacity but Obiano is another level altogether. Those model Awka flyovers and other massive infrastructural projects going on including the Millenniun city, malls, Golf Resort, model 3-Arms Zone etc will forever place the city on the world map as the new face of the new Nigeria. Anambra on a steady rise..

@cuche, this is yet another massive bridge under construction across Anambra river to the oil facilities, Gas Power station and agricultural belt. The truth is that Anambra is the fastest developing state presently in Nigeria because it is a state-wide infrastructural development. Not like in some other states.

This is interesting.

How Obiano doubled the state external debt in two years baffles me. That means, external debt increases by 30 million dollars per year. If we go by that, Anambra external debt will be 120 million dollars after first term.
