It is very easy to trivialize a very difficult and complex problem, but that will never be helpful. The herdsmen have very legitimate problems which affects their lives and livelihoods. At the same time other Nigerians who have become involved in conflicts with the herdsmen also deserve justice.

Your representatives in NASS need to get off their butts and come up with legislation and address this issue wholistically. They need to fully understand the root causes of these problems (much like they understand how much to budget for their official vehicles) and find reasonable solutions.

One would expect such solutions to include reserving land areas across the country (much like a 'herdsman' highway) and rendering those areas exclusively for the transportation of cattle and family of the nomadic herdsmen who also have a constitutional right to free movement across this great country.

You people have your own highways where you transport your goods and families peacefully; the herdsmen deserve nothing less. As long as their needs are neglected by our government, I'm afraid the trouble will continue.
