Read about it this morning and here is an excerpt.

''Father Dr Fredrick Njoroge, a chaplain at Moi University’s main campus, explained that since the year 325, Easter Sunday has been timed to occur after March 21.

He said the dates were determined by calculations by mathematicians and astrologers sanctioned by the Catholic Church centuries ago.

The church, he said, currently knows the date of the annual Easter Sunday until the year 4099.

“If Jesus does not come back before 4099, we already have the dates,” Dr Njoroge said.

Because of the irregular nature of the moon’s rotation patterns, the full moon can occur in March or April, which explains why Easter dates change from year to year.

Next year’s Easter Sunday will be on April 16 while the 2018 one will be on April 1.

“Easter can occur as early as March 22 or as late as April 25, which now tells us why sometimes it will fall within April''.

I think it is only d muslims that follow the moon, so d early christians had done so?

Can you read? I said a seminary was for clerics. I studied Physics and Applied Maths at Uni. I now travel to Naija among many other countries and have advised and delivered training to many of your major institutes.

So yes you need that chance to learn something from the village school!

The question is this: Do origins of such celebration matters?
Supposed you saw a piece of candy lying in the gutter. Would you pick up that candy and eat it? Of course not! That candy is unclean. Like that candy, holidays May seem sweet, but they have been picked up from unclean places.

Jesus Christ was cruxified on April 3, 33 AD. Geological history captures the earthquake that happened on that day.

It is celebrated on different days based on jewish passover festival calendar requirement in alignment with our gregorian sunday based calendar

Do you know d meaning of AD?

Easter - (Western Churches)
Easter is calculated as the first Sunday after the paschal full moon that occurs on or after the vernal equinox. If the full moon falls on a Sunday, then Easter is the following Sunday. The holiday can occur anywhere between March 22 and April 25.

na you correct pass. it is so easy to deceive christians who dont have personal encounter with jesus christ. They swallow everything hook, line and sinker. personal Encounter is what matters in christianity, sadly most christians dont have this, na only follow follow. HE IS RISEN INDEED, EVEN THE DEVIL KNOWS BUT WILL NEVER ACCEPT grin AND BECAUSE HE IS RISEN HE WILL COME AGAIN.

The origin of ANY celebration matters to the people who celebrate it. A Christian celebrations origin matter to Christians. An Islamic celebrations origins matter to Muslims. Even a tree worshiper or magic spirit or mami waters beliver (THERE ARE STILL PRIMITIVE AND SAVAGE BELIEFS LIKE THESE PRACTICED IN SOME BACKWARD PLACES EVEN TODAY!) will find relevance in the supposed origin of their particular superstition.

Easter, or whatever it is called is of pagan origin

Easter is celebrated on a Sunday. As there are not an whole number of weeks in a year either it would end up being on a different weekday or a different date. Jan 1st is not always a Friday.

Sanchez01:

The Bible does not explicitly state on which day of the week Jesus was crucified. The two most widely held views are Friday and Wednesday. Some, however, using a synthesis of both the Friday and Wednesday arguments, argue for Thursday as the day.
Jesus said in Matthew 12:40 , “For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” Those who argue for a Friday crucifixion say that there is still a valid way in which He could have been considered in the grave for three days. In the Jewish mind of the first century, a part of day was considered as a full day. Since Jesus was in the grave for part of Friday, all of Saturday, and part of Sunday—He could be considered to have been in the grave for three days. One of the principal arguments for Friday is found in Mark 15:42 , which notes that Jesus was crucified “the day before the Sabbath.” If that was the weekly Sabbath, i.e. Saturday, then that fact leads to a Friday crucifixion. Another argument for Friday says that verses such as
Matthew 16:21 and Luke 9:22 teach that Jesus would rise on the third day; therefore, He would not need to be in the grave a full three days and nights. But while some translations use “on the third day” for these verses, not all do, and not everyone agrees that “on the third day” is the best way to translate these verses. Furthermore,
Mark 8:31 says that Jesus will be raised “after” three days

Take your time to read this and come back. The world as we know it, before now, did not operate the 24hour setting the and did not operate our kind of calendar. You, my friend, need to be enlightened.
Remember that Jesus was very clear about the 3 days and 3 nights. Not just three days

Less than I would get paid in Europe but thats ok because I love my work and travelling. Why? Do you work for free? What do you work at anyway?

Or perhaps you think only Nigerian teachers should be paid? You really need to be able to think matters through logically before randomly reacting.

The two basic truth here is
*Jesus was nt killed on a cross at all
*The gregorian calender was man-made, the moon is nt rigid so ll rotate backward, that's simply d reason the hijira calendar should be used.

Easter was a pagan festival stolen by the founders of Christianity to celebrate the death of Jesus Christ

Of course jesus never existed. Israel was subjugated by the Roman Empire and they kept record of everything

There was no mention of Jesus in their record so......

Why are you equating the name of a CELEBRATION with the names of imaginary gods? Is it because they sound vaguely similar to a few people?

This post is really faaaar out! Lol
