Shaka zulu is one of the famous(or notorious) leaders to have graced southern part ofafrica in the past few centuries.
Hate him or like him,he is the personalities that established the zulu kingdom.
Many respect him,some revere him,others plainly wished he were still alive,he was a legendary warrior who never backs down,but despite his epic display of courage,military prowess,and royal strenght,there are certain facts many dont know about him,these facts will shock you...lets dig it

1 SHAKA WAS A REBEL
he was a true rebel who had very little patience with certain aspects of the culture he deemed not particularly valuable.
He decommissioned initiation school,where boys nd girls are taught how to men and women.he dealt away with such institutions nd traded them in favour of military training for boys.
The girls would ordinarily be initiated by their family by perfoming coming-of-age ceremony

2 HE KILLED MORE ZULUS THAN ANY OF HIS ENEMIES EVER DID
although a lot of sympathizers have come on to cast doubt on many of the accounts regarding shaka,there is no doubt that shaka was a ruthless man who killed more of his people than any otther king.

3 HE STOLE THE CROWN
even though zulus and other people rever shaka so much,the truth is he stole/usurped the crown,shaka killed his half-brother and installed himself as the king.Ngungi culture dictates that an illegitimate child can not assume his father's crown under any circumctances,but shaka did(shaka was an illegtimate child,his mother had him for his father outside wedlock,but the king denied him,but later took shaka's mum as his thirf wife,but soon after he was given birth to him,the king sent them out frm his palace.yhey were rumoured to ve been living frm one place to the other,but he eventualy settled down with his mum's family when he became of age,little wondered he loved his mum so much)

4 HE KIILED MANY ZULUS TO MOURN HIS MOTHER
when his mother died,shaka declared a mourning period of more than a year.during this period,crops were not planted,and any woman who became pregnant was killed,together with her husband.
All the cows that gave birth were killed,so that their calves could know how it felt to loose a mother

5 HE FORBADE HIS TROOPS FROM MARRYING
Shaka forbade his soldiers from marrying or having homesteads.
He believes that marriage would somehow degrade the readiness of his troops,something that the troops silently resented because,after Dingane,his half brother murdered shaka and installed him self king,he allowed the troops to marry nd have family,as a way of buying their loyalty...and it worked
