Well you are right, but they didn't.

But wait, what made you think England would have won them again? For me, the only team that could possibly defeat Germany in that tournament was the same team that defeated them in the final, Brazil.

England had a decent team no doubt but Germany were smoking hot. Now don't allow your judgement to be beclouded by that friendly they played a year earlier, or even with the fact that you support an EPL club. Football ain't judged that way.
