Hypersexualization Of Young Girls. Is It Ok? by TrueBorn(op): 3:18am On Mar 31, 2016
Check it out nau, even children are becoming sexualized these days. To what end?

When a child as young as 5 yrs old wears make up and sexually suggestive clothes, does it not ring a bell in your head? For God's sake, these children are literally made to look like adults. Pure perversion. I am sure Pedophiles are having a field day.

If you want perfect evidence of hypersexualization of our girls, what do you see during birthday parties?

Sexualization occurs when a child’s value comes from only his or her sexual appeal or behavior to the exclusion of other characteristics.

They believe that their value depends on their so called sex appeal.

Today’s children are bombarded by an array of media glamorizing sex. It is found that girls start to self sexualize as young as 6-9 years old.

They believe they need to be sexy in order to be appreciated and the present culture(which is fast spreading) is sending a very negative message to girls and to boys about girls.

Instead of making these girls focus on more important values like character, inner beauty etc, companies like MGA entertainment (owners Bratz dolls franchise) and Mattel (owners of the Barbie doll franchise) teach these young girls about vanity, conformity, materialism and sex appeal by creating dolls that tell them it's okay to be sexy at their age.

These young girls begin to imitate what they see believing that this is what is expected of them. For instance, Barbie digital mirror allows girls to try on make up using augmented reality.

To their young minds, it’s all play and fun. They have no idea of the long term psychological effects of premature sexualization.

Through TV, smartphones, computers and tablets, today’s kids are more exposed to the media than any generation before them.

Most children's shows on Disney, NBC and CBS promote the sexualization of young children through their net works. Most often you will find seeming innocent children’s show riddled with subliminal (hidden) messages.

Info from the vigilant Christian

*There is a battle for the souls of your children and if you are not sober enough, you won't notice. It’s no surprise that children as young as this have started viewing porn or having sex.

At this age, these young ones are so impressionable and it’s our responsibility as parents to inculcate into them true values including the spiritual values. Do not undermine the ‘ministry of parenting’.

Foundation matters and as parents you have the sole responsibility of laying it.

why do people always misquote or mis-read people.the writer or op is drawing people attention to the common trend.he is saying train up your child in the right way with the right tools because they are the next generation.what you make them focus on now is what they will carry into the future.lay good foundation by good parenting.he is not talking about hard ons.na wa for the way most Nigerians thinks.especially you ladies that all you know is make up and fashion with empty brains

I really wonder if the OP mentioned himself getting "a hard on" his post... moral values are fast depreciating in our society and we all are encouraging it with the guise that it is increase in technology as "get age". Truth be told, the OP has made a point of order that we should encourage and evangelize fast!

Let me direct this to you @surestakes

This is how people derail discussions on nairaland.
The OP is saying one thing and you are saying another thing.

You've seen nothing yet

First It all boils down to women, they are easily swayed by words going with the flow (any where belle face)you think am wrong? Ask amber rose and miley cyrus about their fan base

But at last though it boils finally to parents, it's your duty to safe guard them, you don't expect a girl to be decent when her mom sees miley as a role model
