After watching this video, I'm becoming more disappointed with the lg g5. I know it is not easy building a modular phone but if they just couldn't get it right they would have just stuck with the design of the v10 which is still the best lg phone to date. I knew the modular design would either be a breakthrough or a big fail and so far it is looking like the later. The chassis is not uniform and the display is very terrible in the dark.

Just how is this phone supposed to compete with the galaxy s7 edge and the yet to be released HTC 10. The display should be able to be fixed via os update, but as for the build quality, I just hope this reviewer got a bad unit or things won't go well with lg

LG needs a lot to learn in terms of phone design. How could a flagship phone looks so cheap in design?

To me... It looks like those old phones htc started with on Android version.

That's true. They tried to go overboard and make something special but I think they made the wrong choice. They tried too much ended up creating something that looks like an alien phone. The lg v10 is a lot better than this phone in my opinion. This g5 doesn't even look solid enough to compete with the flagship phones of this year. Modular design is just a gimmick.

Are they confused in terms of what design to use? I did expect them to make something slicker than G4.

In 2016, people look at good, attractive design in phones these days with good specs, not to talk about (flagship devices).

Another G3 in design. It would have being called "G3 plus" instead.

Actually the g3 design is not too bad, g4 was better and v10 looked like they got it nailed but for the size. This g5 design is gonna have mixed reaction for sure. It is a good idea with not so good execution.

What about G2(the one with 2Gb ram), is it good enough?

Not that bad in design as at then. But it's bad when used in 2016 for a flagship phone from a world class electronic company like LG.

Actually there is no similarity in the design of the g3 and g5. The only similarity in design is they are both a slab with a huge screen, but isn't every phone like that?

I didn't say they look "exactly" in design. But looks "similar".

Not top notch design.
But you over exagerrate it.
And it has great specs.. What the real geeks care about.

It is called design language. Every recognized OEM has that. When u pick up an iPhone u don't need to look at the apple logo to know it is an iPhone. When u pick up a Sony xperia u don't need a soothsayer to tell u it is a Sony phone. Sake thing with HTC and Samsung, they all follow a particular design language. And in all honesty this g5 has even deviated from what lg is known for.. They even ditched the back volume buttons and placed it on the side.

LG G5 is certainly interesting. Will definitely use it if it didn't exist at the same time as the S7 edge .

if LG doesn't get it right this time, they will certainly get it right in their next flagship iteration.

yall should cut LG some slack jare.... they hand to take the risk of the modular design.... they chose functionality over form.... just chill for the V11(or V20). its gonna blow!
