So I needed to replace my system cos it was giving me some problem (could not handle my kind of tasks anymore cos of processor issues).

I browsed through the Computer section of Nairaland and saw a system I thought my meager money could buy.
Fast forward, we agreed on how it would be shipped to my place. (I calculated how many hours it would take to deliver the parcel to where I am cos I had an engagement to meet up). So instead of giving my original location, I gave him the address of the place I was going because I intended staying there for some days.

Issues started when, after those days, I needed to go back to my location but the laptop didn't arrive. I called and complained about change of location, of which he agreed to tell the courier company.

I initially sent 18k with agreement that I'd complete the remaining balance of 12k.
He told me that due to change of address, they charged him extra pay, that I should send additional money, so he'd give them. I smelt something fishy and told him to remove the expenses he incurred and refund my money. But he said he's suffering on my account to ensure I received the parcel and was angry that I doubted his sincerity. According to his words, 30k is even small to pay his daughter's school fee.

Since I'd staked my 18k already, I felt I could just send 5k so as to hurry up the process, because the fault came from me when I changed location.

Up till now, his phone numbers are switched off.
Below are some of our conversations, his WhatsApp profile pictures and account details he gave me.

Electronics, especially used ones are meant to be tested and certified okay before making payment. Op, u did none of this andacted based on "trust" (don't know If that's the right word to use), I believe this ordeal will make u wiser or better still, teach u a lesson on how to transact business.
You can still get hold of him, report the case to the police station, give them his account details as this would enable them trace him. I'm glad BVN is in regulation as other accounts in his name would surely be tied to this.
To the Con artist, since u are a nairalander, I hope u are gonna read this and I believe u would have deleted the account u used in such frivolous act and opened a new one, looking for the next victim. My advice to u, repent before it gets too late. Remember one thing, whatever u sow, u reap. #Karma.

Everything I did was based on trust. I would ordinarily not have fallen a victim of this if I hadn't trusted him. All the same, Thanks a lot, my bros. I'll look into the matter just as you've said.

That's true. Learning a lesson in a hard way.
Unfortunately, we ourselves are the problems of ourselves in this country. Little wonder why we seldom help each other even when we can. Until we get out of this, I'm sorry to say that Nigeria won't grow the way it should.

I actually didn't want to say anything but later changed my mind. It would have ended there but I wouldn't want anybody to fall into his trap anymore. That's why I opened this thread. I've corrected it
