Last night, on BBC World Service news, I learned that Nigeria is setting up huge camps in the NE, furnished with the latest modern conveniences, which the average poor Nigerian can only dream of, for Bokoharam terrorist willing to lay down their bombs and confess their sins. Given that these terrorists have slaughtered thousands and devastated the North of Nigeria and yet are being promised forgiveness why isn't Kanu - just one man who has killed no one directly - not being offered salvation ? |

themall:If after the terrible, terrible things Bokoharam has done and the government is willing to rehabilitated them. They even recently caught some Terrorists with loads of poisoned fish destined for Nigerian market. The least the government should do is wrap up the case against Kanu and deport him back to London. |

I suppose that the South Africa truth Commission set the precedence for all this fangled reconciling with murderers of which Jonathan Administration’s Delta Militants amnesty Program was a leading example. Perhaps the current government, keen to square the scores, should now wipe the slates clean with the proviso that there should be no second chance next time for all agitators, militants and Terrorists. |

I have not read of any amnesty for Boko Haram members Rules of engagement, if Enemies surrender , you take thier weapons , put them in a general location where you can always watch them and of course rehabilite, it's a rule from Gevena Convention Don't peddle lies about Amnesty As for Nnamdi , he's still being a stubborn boy otherwise his case would have been settled |

Litmus:You're assuming too many things. You may be heavily and dangerously biased. There is a shoot-at-sight order for any and all boko-haram. there was no shoot-at-sight order for Kanu. The DSS is the same under GEJ and same under Buhari. Kanu is first of all a Nigerian, otherwise he will be tried as a mercenary. Let a British with a Nigerian passport go to molest the Queen and Britons in the UK and then claim to be a Nigerian. Also, to wrap-up the case would mean 40 years imprisonment for homicide and manslaughter offenses and life imprisonment for sedition, terrorism and treasonable felony. Kanu is not going back to Britain. Nigerians need to take steps to protect his wife and his new child who is currently falling for love advances from Deputy leader, IPOB, Uche Mefor ! |

themall:I see that it only partially escaped you that I’m in effect pissed off at the prospect of amnesty for Bokoharam terrorist while it nearly occurred to me that you’re unduly concerned for the terrorists when in reality you’re concerned for the rule of law. Still, we mustn’t be too po-faced about the rule of law as it presently pertains in Nigeria and so we should take advantage now while it is not yet at a situation were its implementation throughout the realm is sacrosanct and too ridged to bend. |

Litmus:My friend, WOLE SOYINKA is looking for a PHD student! But on a more serious note, remember that realism and theories in Nigeria are farther than heaven and earth. Our leaders are feeding us with theories while the masses must face reality alone! We must snatch what we can, before the conflagration of our souls succeeds. |

Litmus:Amnesty is for people who have done something wrong. Since Kanu has not done anything wrong, amnesty would be an insult |
