With this type of reasoning, I can confidently conclude that Naija is finished.

The Federal Government in a bid to reduce the amount being spent on overheard expenditure on Wednesday night banned all top officials of government from flying first class while embarking on officials trips.

It said henceforth, all top officials of government such as ministers, permanent secretaries, Chairmen of Federal Government Committees, as well as Chairmen and Chief Executives of Parastatals and Agencies are to travel on business class.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Media Adviser to the finance minister, Mr Festus Akanbi in Abuja.

In the past, some government officials who should have been on business class usually travelled on first class, while many others travelled business class instead of economy class.

Akanbi in the statement said the new directive has been captured in a circular on review of overhead expenses released by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

He said the development is one of the recommendations made by the Efficiency Unit which was set up by the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, last last year aimed at reducing overheard expenses.

The unit was set up to engender transparency and reduce government’s large expenditure through procurement in the various ministries, departments and agencies of the Federal Government.

I swear U are Dumb. Every sensible government looks to attend to the need of her people. How does flying first class reduce the Cost of governance In this damn administration? Mr President's constant travel out of the country with his entourage should be cut off first. He should curtail his journeys, he has ministers and directors that can do that. He should first of all reduce the number of his executive cabinet. Do U know how many PAs he has on one portfolio?

What stops you from going to your LGA to see your representatives and force them to reduce their budget. Is is not you and I that voted them in?

If first class travel expenses cost 100 billion a year, and business class ticket is half of first class, do simple arithmetic and tell us what should be saved theoretically. It is foolishness to expect 80% cut or thereabouts in any organisation running expenses, it can only be in gradual increment in a large bureaucracy like the Federal government

It was this same set people that were complaining how some government agency and ministries were traveling with private and charted jet as if they were entering taxi. Now there is a check on those excess they are complaining. Human will never be satisfied.
