Uba Sani, Special Adviser to Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State on Political Affairs, says the Preaching Bill, proposed by the state government is not new. Successive administrations in Kaduna State who had contended with bloody and destructive religious riots had at one point or the other resorted to legislation to rein in religious extremism in the state. This is beyond ridiculous. Listening to RL Rufai and his horde of paid pipers you are almost guaranteed to lose your cool and get down in the dirt with the shameless liars. There are many things wrong with that bill but none is as annoying and patently insulting as Mr el rufai purporting to tell Christians what their faith teaches. In drawing broad comparisons between Christianity and Islam he has betrayed a complete ignorance of ...actually a sick patronizing of the christian faith. One example : el rufai assumes that because his religion controls preachers and their preaching then Christianity must be subject to such censorship... Arant nonsense. The christian doctrine of the priesthood of all believers gives latitude to Christians to evangelize in ways that el rufai's bill seeks to stop. Licencing of pastors is as unknown to Christianity as CAN - a body of mortals with their own vested interests. If a christian or anyone for that matter, in performing his religious duties breaches the law then the state is well within its rights to apply sanctions; preventing us from worshipping God is a satanic ploy . we will fight it.

Please when making policies as a public officer will should be religious considerate and religious sensitive.

Let's assume we listen to the Christians about religious freedom and El Rufai stops this law, will it be okay if a member of Ogboni Fraternity (a religion in it's own right) wakes everyone in the street by 5am shouting incoherent incantations and threatening that anyone that doesn't join Ogboni will burn in a hell fire, won't they be the first to ask the government to curtail the 'excesses' of the 'preacher'?

How would you like it if I set up a panel of eckankar members to edit your ogboni Incantations Before you make them Its not about noise...we all hate noise...but just as an eckist knows little or nothing about ogboni so a Jehovah's witness or grail messenger or even a non denominational christian is very different from a catholic or a Baptist. That is why religion is a personal affair and must remain so. I never said everything is wrong with the bill...but in saying nothing is wrong with the bill you prob have not studied it. State controlled religion is a slippery slope...ask communist Russia ...China etc the later end will be very nasty.

The bill is simple common sense. And is necessary in the war against terrorism. Your analogy has no bearing with reality!

who is CAN ? Is she a court of law to decide what constitutes hate speech? Is she a scriptural or even an unbiased entity? Are there no anti terrorism laws in this country as of today?
