No need to flog a dead horse. The Lagos-Calabar project was never in the budget in the first place. The budget copy is available all over. It was put up for download by the budget office on their site. Buhari is just looking for distractions for the mess he is in.

Publishing a picture online of the president going through a 1800 page document was enough to tell anyone this was all propaganda. The APC are not serious and not ready for governance. This is how 419 scam groups behave. They throw a lot of hot air and puff and huff aimlessly all day with zero substance. It is all so pathetic

Also, remember that the reason the budget was submitted to the NASS in the first place is so they can scrutinise it and remove or add whatever is necessary. You cannot now accuse them of actually doing their job. You cannot berate them for being efficient and competent! I can't believe how kindergarten Buhari and his team are. Such a shame!!!

Four months no budget just as we waited forever to have his saintly ministers who have delivered nothing of his campaign promises.
How much longer do we have to wait for real change?

However, Jibrin took to his Twitter handle to respond to allegations levelled against the National Assembly and specifically the Committee on Appropriation.

In a series of tweets, he addressed some of the issues one after another.

In the tweets, he said, “The Lagos-Calabar rail (line project) was never included. How could NASS have removed what was not there? But the nation is being misled.

“This is unfortunate as it is quite clear to all and sundry that #Budget2016 and all its headaches and controversies didn’t emanate from NASS

It is no longer business as usual.

BTW where was senator Ben Bruce. Oga common sense. Why hasn't he said anything about the expunged capital project.

Did the common sense elude him on Floor of the house as usual?

Bunch of thieving thieves committing thievery
He has spoken and demanded an apology from people like you and many people have been apologising to him on his Twitter TL. There was no Lagos-Calabar project in the budget submitted in the first place so there was nothing like expunging of such a capital project

Really! so the presidency and is clowns expect the Nass to leave the budget of fraud as was presented to them without amendment. Truth most suffice at last , this shows that the corruption (padding) was made by them and were disappointed to see it corrected by Nass .

Hey! This is beyond party politics and that is where you people remain myopic. Do you think it is all about one upmanship? No! It is about patriotism and commitment to the citizens who put those eejits in power!

A synchronised relationship b/w the Legislature and the Executive does not in any way require some dead party demands or interference with the independence of both bodies. It is about good n mature governance that must translate to improved lives and dividends of democracy for the citizens! The citizens come first! The moment politics holds sway over and above the people then such government is dead on arrival.

Is Saraki not an APC member? So what if he wasn't a party's godfather's choice? Is that why the nation/citizens must be made to endure such hard n biting circumstances while they don't even concede or partake of the sacrifices we are expected to make for a better tomorrow?
Wtf is synchronised relationshiphuh Common wake up and stop dreaming. This is politics not alice in wonderland fairytales!

And btw u jst made my point. U were happy wen saraki didnt listen to the Godfather. So why blame the godfather nowhuh Direct ur anger to the individual senators, not the party since u said they shldnt answer the party.

Let us be fair.

WHO INSTALLED THE PRESENT LEADERSHIP OFTHE SENATE? PDP OF COURSE. and you wonder why things are not working out?

When Saraki snatched the position like a Yahoo boy, you PDP criminals supported and hailed him. Now that PDP influences everything in the National Assembly we can see confusion everywhere.

Balderash!

The Presidency never said it was in the first edition but that the Hon Minister for National Planning Udo Udoma argued it's case in the house and it was included in the second version. It was the second version ( padding free) that was reviewed and passed by the house. In the second edition it was there.

I dislike the use of obfuscation to make points. Deal with the issue on the merits. The budget is not a party budget it is a national budget.

Both PDP and APC senators are up on arms about the exclusion of Lagos - Calabar railway line and it's replacement with constituency projects such as boreholes, tricycles and town hall meetings. Items already provided for in the bloated salary of every senator.

If you want to catch the PoFRN out, monitor execution of his administrations programs. The budget is for every single Nigerian and not for a party or the people that voted for it.

Enough of narrow minded part thinking. The next election isn't until 2019.

Section 80 of the 1999 constitution gave powers to the NASS to appropriate budget for the nation. I have never seeing a govt. So obsessive in handling national issues as this govt. What is wrong in the executive working with the NASS to work things out rather than castigating and ridiculing in the court of public opinion! For God sake, PMB and his party seems to have successfully intimidated the judiciary and now the may be successful in their NASS agenda! In all fairness, PMB, hiss party are extremely immature, their direction is comatose and they are leading Nigeria to something deadly!

Something of national importance that really affect everyone is being treated with this much laxity is so amazing,,maybe wen they see ppl on the street chanting change of government then they would sit in their country and rule, and I hail our one and only president of the world.

Okay, whatever the case, be it the presidency's fault or the NASS' fault, the crux of the matter is that Buhari says he wants the project to be in the budget and for whatever reason, the project isn't in there. So Buhari now wants the project included, Simple!

PDP influences what?
Who are the majority?
If the minorities are the one controlling the NASS, then
Apc don't know what they are doing.

Nobody is intimidating anybody here, quit all these pointless analysis and blame. If there is any reason behind the whole friction, it is most probably cos money isnt changing hands anymore from presidency to NASS to get things done.

Seems the members of the national assembly are still the same selfish/greedy bunch. Nigerians we must start recalling erring national assembly members. And next time you want to vote/support a candidate,do so wisely.
