Get sense my bro. From experience, the denials of 70% of their campaign promises goes to show that they might do similar to this. Never trust a liar.

NASS unilaterally changed the budget proposal for provision of infrastructures to purchase Keke Napep, cut the budget for special vaccines & such nonsense.... but they couldn't work the rail into the budget despite finding "purposeless" money floating like rudderless ship in the budget? Issokay!!!

My dear sister, I salute you for the courage to be intelligent in the midst of the silly lynch mob. Amaechi brought the amendment and they accepted and debated it and asked him to defend it. They did not reject it and they didn't ask the President to come and present it to them. When the Health Minister disowned the version for his ministry in their files; they ask him to go and bring his own budget. They didn't ask the president to come and represent to them. I am appalled

Questions that need to be clarified.

1. Why didnt the NASS address the issue while it was on the floor (i.e while Amaechi allegedly defended the amended budget).?

2. Was any of the sums intended for the lagos-calabar rail removed and added to the kano rail project?

All i see here is NASS playing with our collective intelligence as a nation.(based on the loop that amaechi ammended the budget with the knowledge of the presidency)
So its ok for a minister to defend a budget, while you keep silent on its invalidity, only for you to divert those 'invalid' funds to other projects.
Chai!!!

It is obvious that they feel people are fools.

The Minister for Budget and Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, told our reporter at the weekend that the government included the project (Lagos-Calabar) in the 'amended budget' and passed it to the Standing Committees of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

http://saharareporters.com/2016/04/11/lagos-calabar-rail-project-new-controversy-between-arms-nigerian-government-over-2016

The truth is that, if not this project Amaechi wants to carryout, our Senators would have had more Loot. Unfortunately, Amaechi wants to use their chopping money to do a meaningful project for the Rivers People.

That is why a lot of Rivers Politicians hate Amaechi. No free chop Money.

These guys are demagogues. Circus monkeys playing to the gallery. The budget was amended, represented and that of transport was defended by Ameachi. They are now talking about the original budget which was withdrawn. Isn't that just being silly.

And some never do wells are jumping up and down. I'm not surprised anyway. They've always sabotaged our country. They don't see the folly in cutting their nose to spite their face.

I was wondering how a minister will just approach the Senate to add something to an already presented budget. A mere minister. People should learn to think.

Why e no go go alone?? The president when suppose send am go dey dey town to do the waka??

These men just dey use our heads wan hit each other. Let them just input that thing already and be done with it. After all wasn't it two budgets they submitted? The "Badly padded one" and the "Padded one"? Why did Amaechi have to go again to submit a fresh supplement? So it escaped him in both copies??

When Senator Udoma sent an amended budget, they did not reject it. When the committees sent recommendations, they did not reject them.

It is the Railway that is their problem and Amaechi. Why not talk to Sen. Udoma.

angry But time is going. I repeat again all these projects will not be feasible if the tropical season hits. No one enters the bush to clean up once June arrives. The 60 billion will become meaningless and parts will get stolen and re-appropriated next year. I know this is the plan by some, delay to degrade and ultimately defeat to steal.

1. The project was not in the initial budget submitted by the president.

2. The senate committee on land transportation confirm that the minister of transportation submitted a supplementary budget to his committee which had this project.

3. Ashafa confirmed that as at the time the committee defended its report before the senate committee on Appropriation. The Lagos to Calabar rail modernisation project was included in the Senate Committee on Land Transports recommendation to the Senate Committee on Appropriations.

So my question is this, why did the senate collect the supplementary budget when they know his from the minister and not th president?

Why was it recommend to the Senate commitee o appropriations if you know it hasn't th due channel?

They all know how important the project was why didn't they alert the excutive that th inclusion of the project have not followed followed the due process?

Why did they deny removing the project in the first place because it's obvious the project got to the committee on appropriations?

Who removed it?

Sometimes we see the light of yet we Chase shadows

Exactly!

Those who are wailing should have a rethink why Buhari didnt sign the budget.

Infact, if their wailings means one thing, it means Buhari should not bother and just sign the damn budget sothat the project can be forgotten now and forever.

I have never seen such foolishness walahi. What is Ameachi and Buhari fighting for, yet the same beneficiaries calls the names and hail the very people who removed the project from the budget.

People can now see why there is little progress in Nigeria. See a meaningful project that our own Senators are fighting.

Let the South South Senators keep quiet.

All dis nothern senators is not thier fault. If not for d stupidity of my Niger Delta brothers who are so fixated on Hating Buhari due to Instigation by the Igbos as a result of Jonathan loss, this senators wont be bold enough to openly admit adding more money to Kano rail at the expence of Calabar rail. When in d same speech, the same senator is telling us they have d power to add and remove any item from d budget.

If they can add and remove any item from d budget as they claim, why is it Niger Delta project that they are removing due to flimsy excuse that it was not on d original document despite d fact that it was presented to them in d senate as an addedum.

The simple question we need to ask this senators defending d ommission of Calabar lagos rail is this: All d constituency project they added to d budget were they in d original budget submitted to them? The increase in d amount 4 Kano rail was it in d budget submitted to them? All d new road linking thier states they added to d budget was it in in d original document submitted to them? If they can add items not submitted to them on d original document, what stop them from adding the Calabar Lagos rail project that was clearly successfully defended, discussed and submitted to them as an ammendment or addendum? Thier argument that it was not on d original document submitted to them is lame, completely outrageous and dead on arrival!!!!This people must be thinking they are speaking to morons!!!!

The greatest traitors to d Niger Delta right now are those fools, and extreme bitter people who are ready to kill d development of Niger Delta just because they hate Buhari 4 cheap political point.

The truth is dat Buhari got nothing to lose. He is a 72year old man who has been Governor, Minister, millitary head of state and today democratically elected president. He is already a great achiever.

We Niger Delta people are being foolish and myopic. We must protest against NASS.

We must not give away what belong to us just because Jonathan lost election. Niger Delta is bigger than Jonathan loss. We must move on and stop harming ourselves. Jonathan is a Beneficiary of Niger Delta Struggle. He was never part of d struggle. We must not destroy our region just because of a benefiary who never contributed much to our region when he got d opportunity.

We are just being silly and foolish.

According to Peter Obi former Governor of Anambra state, Igbo are d cause of thier maginalisation because they dont know how to negotiate politically when others (North and South west) are negotiating for thier people.

My Niger delta brothers, please we must not end up like them. We should be wiser.

The Lagos Calabar rail is just named Lagos Calabar . The Rail actually goes from Lagos to Calabar to Aba to PortHarcourt to Ughelli to Sapele to Benin and to Ore to Ibadan and back to lagos. It is South west, South South and South East rail. The rail is expected to also link Onitcha and Asaba and Warri.

We claim we are more educated than the North. We brag with our worthless PhDs. Notherners with ordinary primary Six certificates are dribbling our PhD senators like Lionel Messi.

Our "stupidity"? Anyway sorry, it's quite hard to love the Daura retard in power, especially when he's making a mess of the whole country
