FRSC has failed to load some plate numbers on their sms / web portal authentication. Recall FRSC was prevented by a court order not to force motorists to get their latest number plates.

To enforce their new number system despite court order, FRSC has proceeded to load their online authentication system with only their new number system.

Policemen has has been harassing motorists especially at Imo / Rivers state (rivers state side) boundary along PH - Owerri extorting huge amount of money from motorists on account of this. Whoever does not pass the sms authentication will be told he has a fake plate number, that his car may have been brought in illegally or stolen. Those who try to circumvent the route and follow Ubima expressway get robbed or kidnapped by hoodlums. This begs the question if there is a connection between these Policemen and kidnappers.

Old style numbers have this format : AB12FST, New :FST12AB with Nigeria flag embossed.
