IMSU is a poorly sited University which the host zone has resisted every attempt to move it to a more befitting site as well as spread development. With this new University which the structures are almost completed IMSU will be relegated to the background. Most Imolites from Orlu zone have always wanted IMSU moved to Orlu but Owerri zone has resisted but now Orlu will have 1, Okigwe already has ABSU though in Abia State now while Owerri has IMSU.

Please!!! Imo state University's main campus has always been planned to be in the Owerri Zone. Orlu Zone has the school of medicine (IMSUTH is sited there) and the Okigwe zone is meant to host the School of Engineering. So I do not understand what you are saying about IMSU being relegated to the background.

It's absolute bad business to leave the about two million people in Orlu zone without a public university, while Owerri zone has five universities funded by the public.
