at the same time, willing individuals from both communities should gather and see what can be done about the bridge ,it's not everything the govt should be involved, right now, u guys can cry from now till thy kingdom comes, the way this nation is now,I don't think an urgent response will be gotten...

The lady complaining has an Arochukwu man named Mao Ohuabunwa in the Senate, what stops him from doing it as a constituency project? the same Mao was in the house of representative.

Bros forget about Mao. Even in the days of PTF an Aro man was the director of programs while another Aro man was on the board of trustees. They looked the other way while fixing tons of roads elsewhere. This community has always been blessed with people in government but no impact whatsoever. They only come home in December flying in with copters while the rest of us jump and prat with whatever we have from SUVs to sedans.

The roads have remained terrible while I was growing, i have three scores plus, nothing has changed yet.

Last last Aro is still fun and a place to be. No dull moment.

It will take God's mercy for development to enter Arochukwu. Arochukwu and Okigwe are the major route for slave trading back then. Story has it that many slaves pick their sand and cause their land before they are being shipped. No amount of development in the southeast will ever reach Arochukwu and Okiqwe. Ask Omenuko the slave Merchant

This is why I laugh when people talk about south south, niger delta and biafra.....why will I leave my brothers that I have lived with for centuries and generations to join strangers up north or traitors in the name of south south or niger delta...

Just a walking bridge separating us.....God punish state creation.....

That road is more horrible than presented in that picture. Those logs of wood there are been replaced by the akwa ibom community otherwise that road would have been impassable.

Nigerians need to be holding their leaders accountable especially state governors. We tend to focus more on the Fed govt and forget about state governors who are as useless as a condom vending machine in the Vatican City. This is an eyesore.
yes that's true.but u know that will be largely possible if true federalism is Been achieved,THERE IS TOO MUCH POWER AT THE CENTER

That road is in akwa ibom state. Originally it's supposed to connect arochukwu to Nkana community but the land mass after it was taken away and given to akwa ibom because it has a large palm plantation. There is another smaller river that now serves as boundary between arochukwu and Nkana. So it is supposed to be looked into be whoever represents ikono in NASS, but they will not because it is uses mainly by people going to arochukwu from the south south or abia state

This is a national embarrassment and until we the people rise as one and protest against these elected politicians this injustice will continue. This area has a member of the state assembly,it has a Representative in the house of reps,it has a senator, and the state has a governor?
We the citizens must hold our elected politicians accountable and if they refuse to be accountable a vote them out of office!
This is really depressing.
We as a people have been denied our basic rights for so long by the divide and rule tactics of these politicians. Get hold of the phone numbers of your representatives and bombard them with calls. We elected them. They are supposed to serve us.

My childhood friend and neighbor is from Asaga I was there for the mom burial. See when I was growing up, I was a leader of a gospel band and I toured old bende like Dubai. The church we planted in Arochukwu will never grow. We host crusade in Ndi Orji, Atani, Isinkpu and many more with Diocese of umuhia Anglican communion.

Arochukwu has an urban area. However the rural landmass is very large with many parts isolated. I therefore doubt if anyone has actually transversed all of Arochukwu including natives.

I will like to see pictures of legendary Omenuko Bridge.

its a pity...this is a road i usually ply durring a visit in a festive period to a friends' place....the Abia state government & her Akwaibom counterpart has failed to develope that part of the states...Ohafia/Arochukwu & Arochukwu/Nkaannah/Akwaibom road is a dead trap...meanwhile, that road is a federal road so the state & federal government should revisit that road.
