Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima on Friday paid homage to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Mohammadu Sanusi II. The Governor thanked the Emir for facilitating the establishment of the Entrepreneurship Skills Development Centre in Maiduguri during the Emir's tenure as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

On his part, the Emir while responding to the Governor said humanity is proud of the people of Borno for being resilient despite all the challenges and prayed for the restoration of peace in the state.

The Emir is in Maiduguri to attend the 22nd combined convocation and 40th anniversary celebrations of the University of Maiduguri where he is expected to receive a Honorary Doctorate degree.

The New breed of young first class traditional rulers like Emir of Kami and Ooni of Ife belong to a different class please. They deserve our respect please. The days of gworo chewing and tobacco sniffing first class rulers are over. These ones are educated, suave, urbane, exposed and cultured.
