priceaction:
I don't know how many of you reason just because you hate her. The one we got before, who has it helped? If not for the obj era that helped in clearing the accumulated ones, you think dollars to naira wouldn't have been up to 1:500? What was dollar to naira rates before shagari era(though I don't expect you to know this as a kid). That was how many troubles befell Nigeria after loan upon loan.

Even with that, after obj left , we are back to it again, yet you and me keep feeling it. Either you like it or not, we will survive this. China loan is better because this is not cash loan. It is like trade by batter. You develop our infrastructures, and it is monetized it and we do natural resources swap with you. Let us try something different in this country and we will see different results.

Go and read what Greece and some other countries under IMF are facing now with their small populations. Many kids these days that refuse to do research and follow latest news but only interested in insults just for small portion of ekiti free rice.

We don't need so called loan
God bless you Sir for this comments. Many of them don't know that IMF uses loans to enslave countries.

So you agree that we are taking a LOAN from China, right huh
If China buys our oil, what stops us from using the revenue from such sales to pay a similar loan from IMF?
Make I wait for your answer oh.
if u are a farmer who cultivate yam and needed to take loan to buy fertilizer and u are faced with this two lenders which one will you go for?
lender A will give you the money at the end of the season you will take the yam to the market, sell it and bring his money to him while
lender B says you don't need to take part of the yam that worth his money to the market to look for buyer just access it base on the market price and hand it over to him. which of the two will you go for?

if IMF has no selfish reasons, why are the buttered that Nigeria is not taking the loan from them?

Who will ASSESS the price/value of the yam- the farmer who BORROWED money and is a debtor or the person who lent him the money and is the creditor?
Who huh

I would have prefer IMF loan to China loan as we all know that China product don't last.fake loan
Even US and other nations got loans from China. Stop all this hatred. IMF loan is slavery, do research about it. China's loan is a form of bilateral trade not on high interest rate like IMF

Which mess is she cleaning up. You meant she's destroying every growth made under NOI.

Fastest growing economy to one of the least growing economy in Africa (under 8 months after Kemi took over)
Loans paid off thanks to NOI connections are currently running past what una can never pay off in this life time (under again 8 months since kemi took over)

Tell us another story jor.. kemi is a complete illiterate. She's nothing but a pawn.
Haha. Fastest growing economy they said then. Unfortunately, the same country with fastest growing economy depends on lone source of revenue, no industries, no employments for the youth. Bro don't be deceived by IMF praises. They only want destroy the country deceit praise until country collapses and they can enact anything they want on us.

Mindfulness:

You didn't need your so called "red flag" to know this.

The top export destinations of Nigeria are India ($12.4B), the United States ($10.9B), Brazil ($9.7B), Spain ($7B) and the Netherlands ($5.12B).

The top import origin are China ($11.6B), the United States ($5.89B), the Netherlands ($3.59B), Belgium-Luxembourg ($3.08B) and India ($2.69B).

Yet, Nigerians think that the West are their enemies because their leaders have brainwashed them into believing this crap in order to distract them from their inability to run the country properly.
If China tops our import origin, then it implies that China tops our dollars export. I now see why it makes much sense to do foreign exchange business with them. God bless PMB.

PMB, THE ECONOMIST!
PMB has done it again. The school cert holder (?) has done what a PhD holder could not.
Very simple economics. We buy most of our goods from China, so why must we pay the Chinese in dollars? The Chinese buy a lot of crude oil from us, so why must they pay us in dollars?
So PMB made a deal with the Chinese. We pay for the goods we buy from China in Yuan, the Chinese currency. They buy our crude oil and pay in Yuan.
The exchange rate is to be pegged at 30 Naira to one Yuan or RMB.
So how does it favour us? Simple.
The Yuan is now 6.48 to a dollar. So if you pay 30 Naira to the Yuan, that would be equivalent to 194.4 Naira to the dollar.
Since the dollar exchanges for 199 Naira, you save N4.6. 199 - 194.4 = 4.6. Simple, huh?
In simple terms, PMB has just strengthened the Naira by 9.15%!
And that's not the end of the story. As we begin to deal in the Yuan, the demand for dollar would plummet and this in turn would weaken the dollar. It would crash to around 140 Naira to the dollar.
May God bless PMB. Can I hear an amen?!

Nairaland used to be a forum where you see intelligent, mind boggling contributions back then. Now, wastes like you has hijacked this great forum and Seun not doing anything about it keeps surprising me. Most of you are jobless and had not even held a position of class captain in your life and you'd still come here to spew gibberish that after reading the news, you get irritated going through the comments.

You dont appear to have a clear understanding of the issues.

We do a lot of trade with China and this way we agree a rate of exchange between the Naira and the yuan without having to go through a third currency and additional cost of exchange.

Several countries have similar arrangements with China including the UK. It's a currency swap.

Na by force to borrow from IMF and sell the family silver for pittance.
