Will Nigeria Have 24/7 Electricity In Your Life Time? by kYjelly2(op): 9:20am On Apr 19, 2016
You go to other countries for vacation and you don't even think about electricity. It doesn't even cross your mind. Its not a variable like "x", like 2x, but a constant "k", never changing.

Do I feel like crying sometimes, even as a man? The answer is yes!

Since I was born into this country, I have never witnessed 24/7 electricity, even for just the "7".

Will you see 24/7 electricity in your lifetime in this countryhuh If you're not hopeful, how can we restore hopehuh How can we do thishuh

I have prayed and believe now is the time for action, but being just one man, I no not what action to take cry

I've asked myself that question many times. I look at my kids and hope they will witness it.
Right now if you want 24/7 power in your house you need to have generator, inverter and possibly solar panels

here is the simple action...

kill all the corrupt politicians...all of them.

let's start afresh...

then give Nigeria 7years, just 7years and the country would turn into a mega power.

If you want 24/7 electricity in your house, you step out of your house and demand the president to fulfill his campaign promises or he vacates his seat.

Well

1.A good number of Nigerians....and a good number of the government parastatals do not pay their bills on time. And this has been a problem for decades (I recall hearing a news report about it in the 1990's).And even now...the problem exists.(And prepaid meters in every house would solve this issue.).

2.Our transmission system right now is seriously messed up. Infact....a lot of it needs replacing.

3.Repeated vandalisation of gas pipelines....which did not start today.

4.Failure to plan. (Why have we been flaring gas....instead of using it to power new gas fired stations, for example?)

5.Poor maintenance culture.

6.Lack of funds....due to the fact that bills are not paid on time....and also due to limited funding.

The answer is yes. I have experienced it in Nigeria. I grew up in Jos, Plateau State and we used NESCO to get our power and we had power 24/7. If we would be without power for any reason the let us know and for how long the power outage will be.
People in Jos are still enjoying it.

NESCO is an early example of a private electricity firm. Glad it is still there.(Did not live in Jos , but heard of it).

I loved living in Jos because of the constant power supplied by NESCO. Even with the constant and steady power supply our electric bill was better than that of NEPA.
