i will advice you base on my experience so far in agriculture. i will ask u some few questions from you here. my first question here is that are u ready to supervise ur farm or u will av a farm manager? my second question is that are u going to throw the 10 million naira to agriculture only without saving some for future purpose.my third question is that do u av acres of land u want for farming or u want to be a marketer in agriculture?
1. i will advice u based on my experience in agriculture so far av started farming. first if u want to go for farming especially agriculture proper u ought to get a land that's suitable for agriculture.getting acres of land will be most good for ur farming cos' ur type of farming is commercial farming(large-scale farming).
2.secondly,there are different type of farming namely,cash crop farming e.g oil palm plantation,cashew plantation,rubber plantation e.t.c. we also av livestock farming e.g poultry farming,piggery farming,fishery farming,snail farming,bush meat farming and cattle rearing(having cattle ranch)e.t.c. we also have vegetable plantation e.g plantain farming(9-10 month harvest),cucumber farming,okro farming,moringa farming,water-melon farming,spinach farming,ugwu farming,sugar cane farming e.t.c. we also av cereal farming e.g beans farming,soya beans farming,groundnut farming,millet farming,rice farming,maize farming e.t.c.we also av tubers farming e.g yam farming,sweet potato farming,cocoyam farming and cassava farming e.t.c.
3.what's ur plan in marketing strategy in ur area of specialization in agriculture?
4.first make some plans in land purchase. and with the way u budget it the land purchase will be on acres. starting with 50-100 acres of land for agriculture.
5. if u are going for commercial farming make ur research too in workers and in manager managing different segment of farming u want.
6.u will need to get tools. if u feel u want to save a bit u can rent which it's not expensive cos' the state or location u are farming will be of opportunity for u cos' it's an avenue for u to approach the ministry of agriculture in the local government u av u acres of to ask for lease or renting the equipment u want to used.
7. please plan ahead of time plan to provide irrigation kit for ur farm if u going for livestock or crop agriculture.
