The north have various leaves which to others down south may think is not edible but which they (northerners) relish in their soups. We shouldn't come to a conclusion that this is inedible. angry

Some people's are worse than the Boko Haram insurgents after having their minds darkened with sheer wickedness and complete hatred for themselves and others. According to twitter user (Dan-Borno), the deputy governor of Borno state, Alhaji Usman Mamman Durkwa (pictured) during an inspection to an IDP camp in the state -caught workers using weed grass to make soup for refugees (imagine the height of corruption). This is not the first time IDP workers have been accused of such shameless treatment against refugees.

That must be the imported grass from Brazil.

Mind me asking .....was there a video of the visit showing the Deputy Governor saying that the leaves are not edible? we only read somewhere ...besides the DG may be an ajebo who doesn't eat such food. Go ask any northern what mai and kuka food is all about then you will understand.

There are actually edible weeds. Plus the reaction on the man's face does not even look like he is complaining. This story looks fabricated. Although, in a country with so many so called religious people, the peeps at those camps should be living fine. They should be receiving support from both private individuals and the government. NYSC camp food looks better than what those people are being fed.

God bless you. I was just about to talk about mai an kuka being the only thing that looked like soup that they used to eat during my service year in the north. That stuff might actually be edible.

stop showing your ignorance with so much arrogance! so, in the whole of stupid life you haven't seen dried vegetables before?
vegetables that are stored for long - where regular preservation methods are not available - are usually dried so they can keep for longer!

cure yourself of your stupidity before posting something else!

No, it is not. It is an edible leave called KARKASHI in hausa. It's a kind of draw soup, please.
