This goes to the general public, I apologize because I also helped in circulating the photos thinking they were recent and true, I even contacted the guy who posted the photos and said in Happen in Bayelsa and he told me they were real that he was still expecting more information on the incident, but now, I realize he merely lifted the photo from somewhere and painted a story suiting it because the Nigeria Army spokesman says these particular photos taken during in-barracks training exercise that took place in 2012.

Once again I apologize

The media, particularly the "new media" popularly called "social media" are gradually eroding discipline in our schools. I'm actually making reference to the flogging incident that happened at Eva Adelaja Sec. School sometime last week. It was reported that the concerned educators have been recommended for sack by the panel investigating the matter.

Now, if that's true, this will give other students elsewhere the audacity to do whatever they like because all they need do now is to come play the victim card on the social media and they and the traditional media will amplify it.

I think the government in the referenced case should have stood with the school even though the educators concerned and all educators alike will be reprimanded behind the scene and cautioned respectively. In addition, the so called student and her parents could have been percified outside buy not in the public.

You may want to argue that the teachers went to the extreme by asking her to remove her 'tight' before she was flogged, that as well could have been played down in the public domain while the picture is dealt with privately.

All I'm ranting about is that if educators are continously punished or harassed in the course of doing their job, we'll eventually create the incentives for students to become unruly where indiscipline will now walk on all-fours in our schools. We need to be careful with the way we react to news that broke out on the social media.

I do not believe the Nigerian Army and their explanation. What kind of training requires flagging down a vehicle on a major road (vehicle's headlights are fully on, road was not blocked for the training as I can see another car in the picture), getting a casket out of the bus, getting civilians to kneel down ...? If it had been a training session, those kneeling down would have been dressed in army uniform, training would have been in the barracks, more soldiers would have been there present, etc. I think some kind of foul play is being covered up. Some big gun(s) must be behind this. My thinking anyway.
Well, that I can not answer, they say its false and fake, so I accept. They are the people on ground in that picture not me, and if you look at the photo well, you would notice that officers from different military and para-military were on ground in that picture, some were even standing nonchalantly, not at alert like people who made such discovery should be. Now one wonders how that is so, were they acting on a tip off or just a movie or training like they said.

Training?

What kinda training looks like a Nollywood movie?

What about the people kneeling down?

Besides, what are they training for? How to smuggle arms for electoral violence?

The fact that Army spokesman came to throw more light makes it a shame on the army. Didn't they know those kind of photos should be control photos never to get to the public domain? If you as a photographer or tourist wants to snap a friend with their barracks as background now, the apes would attack you. Very crude country

I hardly take most of those blog news serious because most of them are unreliable. I take my time to confirm from reliable sources but some of us usually want to be the first to disseminate news - unconfirmed.

And to think we all swallowed the initial lie.
Man I disagree. What about the pastor kneeling down? The environment is a rural highway not barracks environment. Moreover what is the need for arms in coffin training?
