enyinba really had it tough though, north african clubsides are always tough to crack anyday anytime, thank God we flew past them

I think they've done reasonably well. They've got to the final three times (Pirates in 1995 and 2013, Sundowns in 2001). Remember that they just came back to international football in 1992 (only 4 Nigerian clubs have made it to the final [on 7 occasions] since 1965).

There are teams that used to dominate the Champions Cup/League in the past, but it's more difficult to do that now.

Also consider the fact that South African clubs make much less money from the African Champions League than they do from their local league.
