I discovered a boil on my dd's cheek few days ago.I felt it will resolve on its own.but as at today it has turned to a pus filled/rocky stuff.n she's been crying since morning especially if I touch or her hands mistakenly touches it.how do I resolve it pls?TIA

Sorry oh, i dont have any experience in this, the only boil remedy i know i have tried on myself but not on babies so not sure if it will help you.

My remedy is alcohol.....
Any thing with at least 40%.. yes that ranges from methylated spirit to vodka, gin or ogogoro!

Saturate a ball of cotton wool with the spirit and place it on the whole boil (hard and pus parts)for as long as the alcohol takes to evaporate. ...

Do it up to 3 or 4 times a day and although i cant remember the science behind this it softens the boil considerably after the first day and the reduces the inflamation. Which makes pressing out the pus, much less painful!

Note: this is for boils that have not burst and the skin is still intact.

Any other mamas know if this is ok to use on babies?

@zaynie, the child was taken to hospital oh pediatrician said she's ok. No fever, no weakness, she's been on ort since last week. Done tests nothing is wrong. Doctor said its a phase, maybe the body trying to clean up.

@ modath, the vomiting comes on its own but at times its also triggered by baby putting her hands into her mouth.

Well we're still watching for any signs of fever or weakness, so the doctor advised.

Evenflo manual pump, dats what I use and I can fill that bottle that came with the pump in about 5mins.

Rub some Shea butter on it to ripen it. A Dr or pharmacist may prescribe antibiotics.

I noticed you said the child sticks her hand down her throat after meals, could there be something nauseating her in the food?

Maybe they can vary her meals for now or something!

Thanks Ma. His stool is greenish in colour,mucous like and watery. and He farts a lot (makes sound when farting). And he poops after each feed... All these started 5 days ago though he sleeps well and eats well. My MIL said it is jedijedi. I also have but ve treated myself but I dunno what to use for a one month old baby for jedijedi.

There probably is something you're eating that's changing his stool constituents. Try and think back as to your meals in the last week. Are you taking any herbal drinks? You should see a Dr asap anyway because the stool is watery As you say and that's a sign of diarhorrea plus the fact that its been so for a few days

The joy and beauty of motherhood. My son started walking today and i feel so so happy. He is 10 months and it just feels like a birthday gift for me. I am so happy i just started singing and dancing. I wonder how excited i will feel when he wears school uniform for the first time or when he graduates from the university or when he comes home saying mummy i want to get married. The joy of watching him grow takes away the stress involved in raising him. Its all beautiful. God bless our children and God keep our homes.

I don't think anything is wrong with your baby. If you are on ebf, some babies poo (melon like poo) after each feed. However, I will advise that you watch your diet or anything you ingest. Also, as for the green poo, ensure that you empty one breast per feed before offering the second breast if lo isn't full yet.

I'm getting worried. All this issues with babies vomiting, are you sure it's not the water used to wash their things or make their food? There must be a trigger. it kind of seems seasonal.

November/December, so many mothers here were complaining about colds and catarrhs, some had no problems even though some of us were sleeping with air conditioners and fans nightly. I noticed that most of the mum's with no problems were avoiding certain respiratory triggers. Same thing with the rashes. Same thing again happening. As a child and an adult, me throwing up everything and putting my fist in my mouth to throw up meant I had food poisoning and vomiting was actually a relief (body trying to expel the bad virus or bacteria).

Why not start asking "what are the triggers around this?" What is the one thing they all have in common where they are? Could it be the way you are preparing their food or washing their stuff? Even I am beginning to cook smaller quantities for the baby and throw away the rest if it has stayed too long in the freezer.

av u taken him to d hospital nd piccan was given by a doc?nd does he vomit all d meal or jst a little...pls if u r self medicating,Stop it pls..its nt all vomittin dat points to teething issue.gudluck to u sir nd weldone.

aftanun mam...there r diff brands in d market..u kip tryin until u find d perfect one dat suit ur baaby..CeReLaC.gerber.frisocream..etc..senior mamas alwz suggest we start wt rice for easy digestion..nd u can start d ewedu mixed wt titus fish..it goes wt amala,mashed irish potato etc..gudluck ma.
