He would have chickened out. He would have been sore afraid, given up the struggle and left South Africa as a country still under apartheid. He wouldn't mind the *slave toga*. Like Mandela, Like Kanu... Real men!!!! |

naijaboy756:If he was Biafran, he would have led 3 million of his people to their early graves while bailing to neighbouring Zimbabwe. He'll now come back to beg for reintegration and lose a local election woefully to an unknown fella. ![]() |

kayfra:If Ojukwu was not betrayed by his fellow southerners he would not have lost the war Moreover people like Ogundipe bailed out to London without and before a single gun shot was fired |
| Re: Imagine If Mandela Was A Yoruba Man by kayfra: 12:12am On Apr 24, 2016 |
kettykin:Ogundipe was a smart andunpretentious man. Zero casualties and zero broken egos. He never called himself a messiah unlike some. |
| Re: Imagine If Mandela Was A Yoruba Man by kettykin: 12:17am On Apr 24, 2016 |
kayfra:If Ogundipe was a smart man then what would you make of Mandela whose struggle produced casualties . A quote from Mandela is below The time comes in the life of any nation when there remain only two choices – submit or fight. That time has now come to South Africa. We shall not submit and we have no choice but to hit back by all means in our power in defence of our people, our future, and our freedom. |

kayfra:He was a coward like many of his people, end of story. Even Mandela made mistakes and lost In many ways. But that didn't stop him from trying and winning. |

kayfra:Had he been an Igbo man, he'd have worn his wife's dress and shoes, disguise himself as a femal prostitue, and escaped to the Ivory Coast at night. Had he been like Kanu, he'd have been caught with a prostitute, made useless ultimatum and spent his Christmas/new year as a cellmate's bi.tch. |

I have come to believe Cowardice is genetic or a tribal marker. They can't even try, let alone fail. And they are very quick at casting aspersions on the efforts of better men. |
| Re: Imagine If Mandela Was A Yoruba Man by FanYogo1(f): 12:44am On Apr 24, 2016 |
Gext22:I hope you're talking about Igbo leaders and groups that denounced Kanu/Biafra. What's brave about calling for Yoruba genocide? Talking about killing Yorubas, be it children and women on a failed radio station? What's brave about Igbo leaders speaking against Biafra? What's brave about Igbo politicians ignoring the Biafran movement? What's brave about IPODs expecting Yorubas to fight their battle? Calling Yorubas to fight Fulanis so that they can gain their Biafra? What's brave about Enugu youths cowering in fear while their women are being raped and men being killed by Fulani herdsmen? Yes, cowardice is a tribal marker. They often appear in chest beating and empty noise making. |

What's brave about a group of jobless iPod touts protesting for corrupt politicians instead of starting businesses? |

Gext22:Empty barrel. We give the government 10 days to release Kanu or else hell will break loose. We give the government 2 days or else 20 million Biafrans will protest and shut Abuja, Lagos, New York, Tokyo, Dubai and London down. Massive protest in Pluto and Jupiter. UN security council has drawn the map of Biafra. Freedom is imminent! Putin and Obama just spoke with Kanu and gave Buhari a 2 day ultimatum. Our Israeli cousins are coming liberate us and install Kanu as king of Tell Aviv **** Not only are they a bunch of clowns, they also have massive delusions. More like hallucinations. |

kayfra:10 days will soon turn to 10 years Igbos synonomize bravery with empty chestbeating and trying to force other minority tribes to hate on the two major tribes. |

[s] kayfra:[/s] try and read the history of South Africa many died for what they believed and many died for freedom and many ups and downs at first it seems impossible but in the end they were free lesson it's better to die for something than die for nothing (fulani massacre) it's better to die while standing than for your generation to knell forever and be oppressed because cowards dies millions of times but the brave dies once. ask yourself this question have you ever heard in news that a fulani was sentenced to death after all their attrocities but if you defend yourself they'll sentence you to death just like they did to one man. tell me in your inner heart is this the kind of country you want for your generations a country where they will be tormented forever? |

naijaboy756:I usually just laugh at these types of topics as I find it hard to believe that anyone would think that cowardice and bravery are exclusive qualities of specific people groups.....however for those who were alive 1993-1998, I hope they still remember that one of the reasons MKO wasn't released on time was because he refused to renounce his mandate: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/128436.stm. The UN secretary general (Kofi Annan) and Commonwealth Secretary General (Emeka Anyaoku) held meetings to persuade him to renounce his mandate. Kofi Annan gave a press conference to say he had actually agreed to move ahead until MKO denied it in a letter he wrote to Gani. These series of meetings continued till his death including the final meeting with a US delegation including Susan Rice where he finally lost his life.. MKO also left the country at different times before his arrest, including attending Mandela's inauguration. He was placed under house arrest on June 1994, escaped in the night of June 11 to declare himself president (http://www.ecoi.net/local_link/188789/306829_de.html). He eventually surrendered himself when he got back home....if that is still cowardice to you, you must be having a laugh. His final interview with the BBC while he was being arrested can be found here: http://abusidiqu.com/for-the-records-mko-abiolas-last-interview/ Account of his physician about Abiola's premonition about his death: https://www.naij.com/36844.html For those who want to continue with the bait that this thread is, knock yourselves out ![]() |
