Help Needed: My Honda Accord 2001/2 Is Sluggish! by solarisng(op): 9:27pm On Apr 24, 2016

The car won't accellerate as needed and can't even climb simple slopes. It picks up speed after sometime and would be difficult to pick up speed after slowing down. If AC is turned on, car practially crawls. Secondly, fuel consumption has risen to high heavens. Any help pls?

Have your vehicle scanned. When last did you have the spark plugs changed? What's your service schedule?

Hello Solarisng,

List of possible causes:
1) Unserviced spark plugs.
2) Dirty fuel filter or bad fuel pump.
3) Blocked fuel nozzle: They are located near the spark plugs.
4) Transmission failure: Frequent cause for a sluggish Honda Accord is that year range.
5) Check the air filter but it's most likely not the issue.
6) Catalytic converter: Also a major cause. Make sure you ascertain it's not the catalytic converter before you take a look at the transmission.

No, its not hard to start with a good battery, but lately I observed my battery ran down easily

Spark plugs were changed last month when the engine was dancing shoki. Service done every 3 months but haven't any service on the transmission.

What could be the solution if its a transmission failure or a catalytic converter ish?

The issue is powertrain related ranging from air ,fuel,ignition ,exhaust restriction isssue ,u will need to go for a comprehensive diagnosis to really pin point the issue .
