nice one. "seeing" is a gerund and it only exists when used at the begining of a sentence. Like "seeing is believing"

Lol. You're right. "See" isn't used in the progressive tense. It is, however, a habit of mine to manipulate the English language to suit my preference.

verbiage -- a pollysemous word? That's a newsflash to me.

"Verbiage" is used only when too much words are used. It isn't used to decribe one's "diction".

The highlighted should be "aver THAT. . ." tongue

Meanwhile, I think some gerunds like "seeing", "hearing" and others can still make sense in the middle of a sentence;
